Re: My classified ad dissappears???

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Dont think so Alex.....appears they were being deleted for TOS infractions....otherwise why would Astomart LLC have replied quoting the rules regarding posting ads? I suspect he was posting his phone number or the like in his ads.

Check your preferences. The ad may still be there, but you have told Astromart to display on your computer for only a week or something.

Lithuanian astronomers

Hmmmmm....better to err on the side of caution I believe.....walk away.

I've just received two e-mails about my Celestron C9.25 that I've listed for sale from two different people who want to know if I'll ship to Lithuania. What gives, has astronomy become the national pastime of that country, is it random chance or is there skullduggery afoot?

my JPEG photos wont post to my ad

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Cant speak to the problem with the photos not loading but if your ad has been deleted I am going to guess you might want to review the link below regarding posting ads.

I have kept my image attachments small and low res to make sure they post wtih my ad (as they have with not problem) on many past postings, only to show the photo box text and no image.
I tried removing and reattaching repeatedly with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

And now my ad is gone too! Whats up with Astro Mart? I never had these issue with past posts.....

Frustrated w C8 wedge mount

Posted By Greg Shaffer

As Jon says.....the CG5 will carry that C8 just fine. You do have an option for making the C8 more imaging friendly by using a focal reducer. Unguided dont expect miracles out of the CG5 but if you use an autoguider and a focal reducer you should be able to get good performance out of the rig.

Hello! I recently purchase a Classic C8 8" with the original wedge and tripod. I have become frustrated with the inability to get it polar aligned and the stability of images, due to the rigidity of the mount and tripod. I am considering the purchase of a CG-5 Advanced Go To mount and was wondering if anyone had experience in this area. Is the CG-5 hoss enough to support my C8, how hard are they to get polar aligned, image stabiltiy and can one take photos on this mount? sad
