According to www.Recovery.gov, the stimulus plan is working so well that jobs are being saved in districts that don't even exist! Simply amazing. The Bush administration could barely keep jobs open in real parts of our nation, but the Obama administration is even able to save jobs in fictional parts of the U.S. Stay tuned for the next development: creation of new jobs in our 53rd state.

Someone reported inaccurate data to the government? OH MY GOD! AND a government website wasn't updated even though it gets data from all over the country? How could that possibly happen?
I see the local success stories impacting communities aren't reported on Fox news:

The Great Debate Part 2

Interesting article, Rod, but are you sure that the link you provided actually links to the article that you meant to discuss? Because I see very little discussion in this article about the "Republican BS" that you were complaining about. Interestingly, I see that the Reid plan now covers all but 6% of Americans (didn't it used to be 4%?)--so now we're up to 18 million uncovered? Are they still calling it "universal" health care? Guess universal means something else in the lib dictionary.
I've looked into the uninsured under reform myth being propagated by the Republicans and their minions:
http://www.healthcarereformmyths.org/HealthcareReformMyths.php#A7
It appears those not covered consist of illegal aliens and Americans who will opt out of the system(guys like you and your fellow just say no Republicans or tea bag type whack jobs, etc) or have some other kind of insurance coverage(military).

Re: AMA supports light pollution legislation

More good news. The American Medical Association has passed a resolution supporting light pollution legislation, due to the adverse health consequences that may stem from LP. See Resolution 516 on p. 52 of the linked pdf file from the AMA.

Sorry if this topic isn't a perfect fit for this forum, but it is a somewhat politicized topic, and I couldn't find a "light pollution" forum on AM. grin
Thanks for posting this link. It's quite significant and I hope it spurs the EPA to recognize and classify light pollution as pollution that requires regulation.

Senate: monthly premiums for abortions

"Reid's plan also requires that at least one insurance plan offered in the Exchange covers abortions (line 13, p. 120)."

"...the Health and Human Services Secretary [who is appointed by Obama] is given the authority to determine when abortion is allowed under the government-run health plan."

"Under the bill, Americans will be required to pay at least $1 a month to cover the cost of abortions."

While I certainly hope it happens, fact check and others state it's unlikely to occur. We've covered this ground before, do we have to read about it again?

Where we are headed

"Health and safety inspectors are to be given unprecedented access to family homes to ensure that parents are protecting their children from household accidents."

"Council staff will then be tasked with overseeing the installation of safety devices in homes, including smoke alarms, stair gates, hot water temperature restrictors, oven guards and window and door locks."

"...also recommends the creation of a new government database to allow GPs, [nurses], and other officials who visit homes to log health and safety concerns they spot."

"The [government] aims to “encourage all practitioners who visit families and caregivers with children and young people aged under 15 to provide home safety advice and, where necessary, conduct a home risk assessment”. It continues: “If possible, they should supply and install home safety equipment.”

Until reading Jesse Jackson's latest quote, I never thought of the upcoming health care bill as a race issue. Apparently he does, though--why does this not surprise me?

It doesn't surprise me he thinks in terms of race. Jackson, Sharpton and those like them all think like that. So does our resident far-right zealot Jim Babcock. Go figure.
How about aborting 'em all? I know a couple of guys on the forum who would pick up a pair of forceps and a vacuum extractor and would be happy to help...
