That will be interesting.  Not the official event of course, which will be fully masked and distanced.  But what happens in the streets of DC, NYC and elsewhere.

300 isn't 1100 Russ.  (As you know wink)  This news from Pfizer is outstanding.

70M Americans voted, with full knowledge this time,  for Trump. He had a record to review, so his victory in 2016 can't be considered a fluke. They knew what they were voting for. The party of Ronald Reagan is dead, and for good. That is depressing.

Praise God their were 74M Americans who feel like I do about the man. Thank God we eked out a win in the upper midwest. The margins were not very high.

The enthusiasm that still exists in my home State of Michigan just continues to floor me. It isn't going away. Whether Trump is even alive or dead, the sentiment of these voters will last. The US may really have to wait until this generation departs earth before Trumpism is actually gone.
Hi Russ:

We disagree on so much of this, but it is impossible to explore the nuances in this format.  Maybe if the new vaccine news pans out and the world gets back to normal we can rendezvous somewhere in the next couple of years, and discuss the future of the R party.  I'd say that the Rs have a rosy future!

Russ is just trolling Rich.  Roll with it.  Russ knows for example that the Dow futures went from 300 to 1600 when Pfizer's news broke.  Has that ever happened before?

That said, the markets seem to like Biden as president quite a bit.  Especially (in my opinion) since the prospects for a divided government remain pretty good.

You just don't realize that he's probably one of the smarter guys when it comes to mathematics, but one of the dumbest guys when in comes to politics, and having an ounce of common sense.

The perfect example to prove my point would be the other posting I made about Hugh Hewitt's commentary.

Hugh had a guy call in and say about the 2 Senate races, "it might be a split 1 Dem winning, and 1 Repub winning".

Hugh commented to the caller "no, its gonna' be all or nothing, either 2 Repubs winning, or 0 Repubs winning".

Russ Carroll, being the resident Einstein, singles out that particular sentence and remarks "Duh, ya' figure"??

He wasn't even bright enough to figure out that it could be 1 to 1, that is 1 Dem taking a seat, and 1 Repub taking the other seat.

You've heard the phrase "idiot savant" have you not?

Well, I present to you Mr. Russ Carroll.  tongue
Of course Russ was trolling.  It was obvious - funny but obvious.

The rest of your  post is typical, but I really enjoyed this line:  "Russ Carroll, being the resident Einstein, singles out that particular sentence and remarks..."  Remind you of anyone?

p.s.  I agree that H. Hewitt's comments warranted a "duh."  Assuming that you are reporting the comments correctly.  See the other thread.

I think the fact that the GOP picked up 15 seats or so in the House, all while Biden was winning the presidency by a comfortable margin, suggests that many Republican voters rejected Trump as being unfit for the office while embracing Republican policies, including most of Trump's policies.

OK, that is a reasonable addition.  In some instances, though, the Rs like me actually do embrace the outcome of Trump's policies, if not his method of arriving there.
