Hmm, What Are They Doing?

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Iran has moved its stockpile of uranium above ground. An easy target, of sorts. Perhaps hoping for an attack to get the internal dissent of the protesters off its back and rally the people around its cause?

Last night, I watched the Republican minority senate leader on CNN spew the same misinformation about the Democratic health care proposals that has been debunked by factcheck.org, namely: medicare will be raided for a half a trillion dollars, abortions will be fully funded, your health care premiums will rise and more...

Utah: Dug Up & Lit Up

Posted By Rod Kaufman

I note Shell oil shut down some of the drilling rigs in Pinedale Wyoming, claiming decreased demand at about the time when gas prices were headed back up because of "excessively cold temperatures back east." So either Pinedale Wyoming didn't have to be dug up and lit up or the supply side is being manipulated. Take your pick
Same story in Utah, with the way be dug up and lit up by conservative Republicans...

Utah Set to Criminalize Miscarriages

I kid you not:

and:

Mercifully, the governor of that place, is apparently insisting that the madness be stopped, at least to some degree:

Utah. Does it really get any worse than that in CONUS?...

Standard Default Position

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Same old, same old from the Brits on why we went to war in Iraq. Failing to find WMDs, the rationale became essentially "Saddam was a bad man and had to be removed". Of course, one wonders why that reasoning came well after the fact when it was discovered the initial reason of WMDs was untenable. Of course, other evil dictators WITH WMDs (like King Kong Kim of North Korea) were left out of the equation.
The legality of the war seems to be another major issue that doesn't appear on the Brits radar screen, either. It's too bad that one wasn't heard in an international court.

On edit, I see Bush's key adviser, Karl Rove, is now stating we would NOT have gone to war in Iraq if the Bush administration knew WMDs didn't exist:

So much for the default position...
