Sunspot group 682 on October 17, 2004

I am amazed I was able to image the sun at all Sunday. We had clouds and winds most of the day. Luckily I had a window from about 8am-9am local time of fairly clear skies with only light breezes. I took advantage of that and was able to get this image of AR682 and it's interesting structure.

AR687 Oct 22, 2004

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Seeing was terrible, we just had a major rain storm roll out of Phoenix, but the sun is dotted with spots and I decided to try anyway. I shot several groups, but Lo! only this image turned out near decent...and it's a far cry from that IMHO. Still, it felt good to get out an image again, even as I await word on my C925 from Celestron!!

Five sunspot groups from October 23, 2004

Hi all,

Here are links to four sunspot groups shot on Saturday Oct 23. Took me a while to get to process them because I was busy elsewhere. A little later today (I hope) I'll post images from yesterday.

Five sunspot groups from October 24, 2004

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

As promised, here are the various sunspot groups as they appeared yesterday (October 24, 2004). I fought clouds in the morning, but got clearing by near noon. Seeing was in and out, when the frames were good, they were very good. Oddly enough, one year ago we were imaging group AR486, yesterday I imaged group AR684. smile

SunSpot group AR693

Posted By Paul Maxson

After a day of rain (Thursday) and a morning of fog and dr appointments, I finally got out this afternoon to shoot the Sun. Seeing was not very good, but I managed to get a halkfway decent image of AR693, the huge spot on the sun presently. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better seeing.
