There were some real deep thinkers that were just sure Trump was going declare  the election null and void and hang out for another term or two! He didn't feel like moving!

That's pretty cool, though. I'll bet you were once a pretty cool guy too, Mel. 
I was a completely normal sixties liberal with a pony tail driving a VW bug that could hardly stop thinking how smart I was for knowing in my heart also that Nixon was a crook! And then I started making some money. I had a foot in each political circle until I heard my first 5 minutes of FOXNEWS!  No just kidding about FOXNEWS. Rush influenced a lot of people. Before him we needed to read magazines.
I think mostly there is a lot of luck and happenstance that has a say how things end up.

My point is it is ridiculous! Not gonna happen. The people in his inner circle did not think it was gonna happen. If they put Trump on the couch we would learn that he really didn't think it was gonna happen, either.
His juvenile pride refused to lose so he was dragging it out as long as he could, hoping against hope that a miracle could happen AND he was a tough guy a street fighter he wasn't leaving without a fight!
It is insane the resources wasted. And I also mean the resources wasted on the Russian lie. I can't respect a person's thinking that refuses to admit it was a big fraud. Remarkable.

Could be right. They also thought more Trump people would be swayed over to their side. A lot people thought the 6th would have more impact.
