Or why isn't Texas suing all the Republican states that Trump won for altering their election practices during the pandemic? This was such an obvious moot political stunt it's amazing that anyone ever thought it had legs. What pisses me off is Paxton is wasting our taxpayer money on this political mumbo jumbo during the height of the pandemic. Isn't our time and money better spent elsewhere right now?
Good morning fellas. I don't usually log in on the weekends, but this inevitable dismissal for lack of standing seemed special. Is this the final nail in Trump's coffin? I hope so, but even I am not that naïve. A few random thoughts:
* Chalk up another win for my team - the robust system of checks and balances bestowed upon us by our superior ancestors.
* Do you think that the "stop the steal" protests will devolve into riots? I don't. I think that riots in the 2020 timeframe are typically a tactic of the youthful, spoiled, ill-behaved left. I'm sure that there will be minor incidents, but nothing like this summer.
* Local business - are you forum lefties looking forward to playing defense for 4 years? I gotta say I'm looking forward to to having a more clear cut angle to articulate after Trump denied that to me for the past 4 years.
* Rod, are you going to apologize to ACB?
* Today is the first time in 100 years that the Old Oaken Bucket game between Purdue and Indiana is not being played. They played through WWII. The last misses were 1918 and 1919. Isn't that amazing. The last great pandemic. War too of course, but I imagine the pandemic was the cause for the cancellations. Here's some heartfelt thanks to the scientists, engineers, supply chain and distribution workers, health care professionals and of course public servants who have developed and are distributing such amazing vaccines at such a pace. That said, we are probably closer to collapse of the health care ICU system now than ever before. Please keep wearing masks, distancing and working from home if possible. I know quite well that none of these measures is all that effective, but effectiveness on the margins is critical now.
Big day ahead for me, so I won't be dialoging, but maybe tomorrow afternoon. It's not like the Broncos are worth watching.
