Thanks, Carville

Posted By Rod Kaufman
I was just kicking back, watching the GOP implode, when it occurred to me to single out the biggest problem the GOP faces today. Enter CNN contributor James Carville and his contribution:

Romney Flips On Obama Bailouts, Again

Posted By Rod Kaufman
As those of you who don't suffer from selective amnesia may recall, Flip initially wrote an op-ed in the New York Times castigating the president for his bailout of GM and Chrysler. He then went on to claim in this election cycle that president Obama had actually followed his own plan previously discussed under the thread, Romney Takes Credit For Obama Bailouts.
Now, Flop has Flipped again:
http://opinion.latimes.com/opinionla/2012/02/mitt-romney-picks-the-wrong-fight-over-the-auto-bailout.html
Either Romney has no shame, no grasp of reality, or he can't recall from one day to the next and he can't connect the dots...

NYPD Monitoring MSAs

Posted By Rod Kaufman
Does this necessarily infringe on civil rights if the NYPD monitors any group?
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_NYPD_INTELLIGENCE?SITE=UTSAC&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
Don't police forces monitor specific groups such as gangs?
And if one group has a higher incidence of terrorist related activities, wouldn't such monitoring be prudent? Or, is this an example of a police state in action?

Colorado Leads the Rest Of the Nation?

Posted By Rod Kaufman
Colorado will lead the rest of the nation in jobs creation in 2012?
I find that kind of hard to believe:
http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_19477605
Other states already have better:
http://money.cnn.com/2012/02/17/news/economy/obama_job_creation/index.htm?hpt=hp_t3
Obviously, the economy is improving but Colorado in the lead? :S
Now, the GOP take on it is the economy is better because of GOP governors. Of course that doesn't explain why the economy is also doing better in states with Democratic governors. But, when you listen to the GOP presidential candidates, the economy is the worst its ever been. Whom to believe?
