Romney take credit for the auto recovery?

Posted By Rod Kaufman

This isn't the first time Flip Romney has misstated his position on the auto bailouts. He goes back and forth on it like a teeter totter. It's comical and most people familiar with the issue are probably laughing at him...

Colin Powell On Romney's "Advisers"

Posted By Rod Kaufman

No wonder Romney's going bonkers with a three trillion plus defense budget...

The Republicans in the house are just as bad, voting for a mega- billion dollar missile defense shield for the east coast that the pentagon says we don't need. Why can't they listen to COMMANDERS ON THE GROUND?

My Take: The Romney Presidency

Posted By Rod Kaufman

My view of the upcoming Romney presidency:
First, Romney ascends to the presidency based upon distortions and deceptions, often repeated here in the forum. You can read about it here:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2012/may/25/lots-heat-and-some-light-obamas-spending/
True to his election theme, Romney cuts government by downsizing it. The unemployment rate would rise significantly in response and Romney and his advisers know it. To counteract the rise in unemployment, the defense spending act and associated buildup, under the guise of national security and making America the most powerful nation in the world, dramatically boost aerospace and defense budgets across the board. The buildup begins, similar to that under the Reagan years but at considerably greater costs. The unemployment rate drops to 4 or 5%, perhaps even less as defense industry and related venues increase hiring at a frenzied pace.
The economy is humming. The stock market escalates between 15000-18000. Romney is re-elected to a second term.
Meanwhile, the deficit continues to increase to even higher levels, fueled by cost overruns in the military-industrial complex.(The current F-35 debacle is a perfect example of what will happen). At first, nobody will care because the economy is flying high. Eventually, the deficit will begin to prompt the specter of a credit downgrade. Military programs will be curtailed in response and the job layoffs begin.
The Romney recession, moderate to severe in scope, begins. The stock market falls. Millions are out of work.
A Democrat is elected to the presidency...

My Weapons Systems Wish List

Posted By Rod Kaufman

While it's obvious that Mitt and company intend to get the jobs back on track by way of a massive buildup in the military-industrial complex to the tune of 2.1 trillion dollars (3 trillion with the obligatory cost overruns factored in), what is not so obvious is why the unemployment rate dumped so much yesterday. For those who haven't been keeping up on current events, the rate spiked because the majors players in Europe (Britain, Spain, France, etc) are in an economic recession, as per the news. Since we export a lot of our manufactured goods to Europe and the countries over there can't buy them, US companies aren't hiring because European countries aren't buying.
Frankly, I have to agree with Mitt and company in that the only way out of our economic quagmire IS by way of a massive military arms buildup. It's a powerful stimulus that will employ millions.(I'm not kidding here).
Therefore, my wish list for the most bang for the buck includes:
1.Implementation of the east coast missile defense project, as approved by House Republicans, despite objections from the Pentagon. Once the people in the Pentagon realize they'll get whatever they want plus the missile system, they'll cling to it like bugs on a summer bumper!
2. Revamping the F22 Raptor production, including working oxygen systems so pilots will actually fly them. It goes without saying (except around here) that global weaponization projects have to occur to stimulate the global economy so the F22 needs to be offered in an export variant.
3. A complete overhaul of the American M1 A2 Clayton Abrams main battle tank. It's already on the drawing board but Leon and company are currently blocking it from being implemented. Why a complete redo? Anybody get a look at the new Russian T90? The latter was designed to capitalize on the exposed weaknesses of the M1 A2 as evidenced by those that were knocked out in the gulf wars. See here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h4uUfYnXUw
4. Update the MK 48 torpedo so it can continue to sink boomers coming out of the barn, as it reportedly did to the Kursk:
http://english.pravda.ru/russia/politics/18-05-2012/121163-kursk_submarine-0/
and look what they just popped out:

5. Modernize electronic warfare as necessary:
http://english.pravda.ru/news/hotspots/01-06-2012/121296-russian_plane_sukhoi-0/
The above, of course, is just for starters. There are many, many more. Care to name your own?
Oops, I almost forgot what China is up to:

George,
When are you going to learn? It's only the big R poll, Rasmussen, that carries any weight around here. And the fact that it shows Obama ahead means it was likely hacked by some commie, socialist, Marxist, hacker commie Marxist. Afterall, there has to be some rational reason for the result:
