Former President Donald Trump's promised press conference to refute the allegations in the indictment handed up by the Fulton County District Attorney's Office is now very much in doubt, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

Sources tell ABC News that Trump's legal advisers have told him that holding such a press conference with dubious claims of voter fraud will only complicate his legal problems and some of his attorneys have advised him to cancel it.

Well, the big news conference has been canceled. 

“Former President Donald Trump on Thursday canceled a planned news conference for next week in which he said he would share claims of election fraud in Georgia in the 2020 election, the same types of claims that led to his indictment in the state earlier this week.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that his lawyers indicated they would rather he compile his claims about election fraud in the state into “formal Legal Filings as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment.”

Now that I have retired I avoid going anywhere on the weekends. 

Next year I want to go to northern New England to see the fall colors.

Trump has enough support to win the primaries, probably with help from some democrats (which is a bad thing AFAIC), but not nearly enough to beat even a sleepy old Joe Biden in 2024.
