AP: Judge rules Donald Trump defrauded banks and insurers while building real estate empire

Posted By Jim Moscheck

Here is your GOP frontrunner doing what he does best. Lying and cheating his way to fame and fortune.

Trial starts next week for any remaining issues and sanctions.

I posted a thread similar to this last December when the Trump organization was found guilty of fraud.

https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-letitia-james-fraud-lawsuit-1569245a9284427117b8d3ba5da74249

NEW YORK (AP) — A judge ruled Tuesday that Donald Trump committed fraud for years while building the real estate empire that catapulted him to fame and the White House, and he ordered some of the former president’s companies removed from his control and dissolved.

Judge Arthur Engoron, ruling in a civil lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, found that Trump and his company deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing loans.

Engoron ordered that some of Trump’s business licenses be rescinded as punishment, making it difficult or impossible for them to do business in New York, and said he would continue to have an independent monitor oversee Trump Organization operations.

Calling all lawyers:

Since he "deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing loans" do they now have grounds to go after him for any monetary damages they incurred due to his fraud?

If so, he'd better ramp up the lies to his base to rake in a lot more of the maga-idiots money.

AP: Calls are mounting for Menendez to resign as Democrats grapple with ‘shocking’ bribery allegations

Before I'm accused of piling onto Trump I also think Sen. Menendez should resign. New Jersey? Gold bars? Piles of money hidden in his closeted suit coat pockets? Egypt?

Innocent till proven guilty, yeah I know, but come on, man.

From the horse's ass himself on Truth Social, so it must be TRUE!

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

I have a Deranged, Trump Hating Judge, who RAILROADED this FAKE CASE through a NYS Court at a speed never seen before, refusing to let it go to the Commercial Division, where it belongs, denying me everything, No Trial, No Jury. He made up this crazy “KILL TRUMP” decision, assigning insanely low values to properties, despite overwhelming evidence. AS AN EXAMPLE, HE VALUES THE MOST SPECTACULAR PROPERTY IN PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, MAR-A-LAGO, AT $18,000,000, WHEN IT IS WORTH POSSIBLY 100 TIMES THAT AMOUNT. His anger & hatred is politically motivated & unprecedented by those who watched! My actual Net Worth is MUCH GREATER than the number shown on the Financial Statements, a BIG  SURPRISE to him & the Racist A.G., Letitia James, who campaigned for office on a get Trump Platform. While murderers roam the sidewalks of New York, my banks are happy, all loans are current, or paid off in full, sometimes early, with no defaults or problems of any kind. There is also an IRONCLAD DISCLAIMER CLAUSE!

So, "THE MOST SPECTACULAR PROPERTY IN PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, MAR-A-LAGO" is worth 1.8 BILLION? I guess he might find a rich Saudi or a Russian oligarch to pay that much. Maybe he should talk to Menendez's "businessmen associates" up in NJ, although he probably already knows them.

I'm sure she and the judge appreciates his candor in the above statement.

BTW I know I've said this before, but I haven't seen many of the righties who post here like Greg or Darian in a while? Are you guys alright?

Your GOP frontrunner skips GOP debate for a fake rally supporting fake union auto workers at a non union auto parts supplier in Macomb Co.

"About 400 to 500 Trump supporters were inside a Drake Enterprises facility for the speech. Drake Enterprises employs about 150 people, and the UAW doesn't represent its workforce. It wasn't clear how many auto workers were in the crowd for the speech, which was targeted at them.

One individual in the crowd who held a sign that said "union members for Trump" acknowledged that she wasn't a union member when approached by a Detroit News reporter after the event. Another person with a sign that read "auto workers for Trump" said he wasn't an auto worker when asked for an interview. Both people didn't provide their names."

Also,

"Amid a historic strike by the United Auto Workers against Ford, General Motors and Stellantis, Trump said: "Your current negotiations don’t mean as much as you think."

And I'm sorry for the long thread title. grin

I quoted the article. I guess in my hyperbolic title I should have said fake union auto workers. I'll fix that.

In case you missed it:

DD in Colorado posted: Just a reminder in case you missed it:  “The four years under Trump were the best years that we had in the auto industry," contended King, who works for Stellantis.

The company hosting the event employs 150 people. There were 500 people there, I am sure many of which were guests of the owner of the company since it was so prestigious to host the ex prez. At least two of the people were not who the signs they were waving implied they were. A fake event with fake union workers. You can spin it any way you want. Here in Detroit the rank and file see through this BS, but I am sure there are a few vocal, disgruntled MAGA guys who are UAW members who support trump.

So, why then only 500 people in a small non unionized shop in the unionized hotbed of Motown?
