Hi Charles -

A friend of mine had the de-rotator, and claimed it never worked right and was an endless source of frustration to setup correctly. You might be better off with the tried and true wedge.

Very, very nice image! Your focus looks excellent, and you did a good job at bringing out the subtle details in the veil. My only comment is that it looks slightly clipped at the dark end of the spectrum.

That is a very nice image, Wes. I agree that it is a very interesting crater - it almost looks "cracked".

How are you tracking w/ your starmaster? Do you have an EQ platform?

Excellent work on your reprocess! 8)
You did a fine job preserving details, while bringing out the fainter portions of the nebula, and this is an excellent image.

It does, however, appear as though your color balance is slightly skewed towards the magenta (i.e. black has a magenta color cast). Also, you might want to crop out the extreme right side of the image, as your "stack is showing".

Again, very nice image, and thanks for sharing it!

Which is better ? lxd55 or SkyView pro mount ?

I have owned both, and the SkyView pro is hands down a better mount. It will handle more weight, and will track MUCH better.

NGC 7331 from Michigan

It is a real treat to see that image! I was studying 7331 this past weekend in a 16" newt, and was able to see many of the surrounding galaxies. It is great to see your very detailed image.
