I don't think this is much of an issue with commercially blackened optics. I know it is an issue with anything I have tried to do myself.

Great job! The color scheme is nicely done and the handles top and bottom are a nice touch. Perfect for the youngsters. I am sure they will love it.

I also have one of the SS 100m/f6 lenses in a scope. I agree with your assessment. It is very useable but begins to fade quickly at higher powers. A 9mm was about the highest I could ever use.

There is some speculation that the seller has a wierd sense of humor and the ad was meant to be a joke. Clearly, some haven't found it funny. Personally, I have no opinion. It's gone.

Take a look at some of the images shown on Abberator at the following link:

The pics for Refractor_100_3, 5, and 6 are very similar to what you have described. I don't recall ever seeing an explanation that made sense to me.

I have a bit of trouble with floaters and I don't believe this is the cause. Floaters don't stay put, they float.

The early EQ6 was not goto. If you find one of those it will carry 30 pounds. That mount was rated by the manufacturer at 25kgs.
