First CCD

Rikki,
I've never used the Starshoot, but take a look at Pat's post just prior to yours. He, and others, capture great stuff with the camera. Actually, it's great that there are so many options, and low-cost ones at that, to get started with nowadays.

M101

Bob,
Both of your new images are terrific. I love how you've brought out so many knots in the arms of your M101; those details really make a galaxy image! (Also love those deep, deep galaxies in your next post...you must have good eyesight!)

Did you say, "Luminance?" That's so clear I can swear I see colors! It really is stunning just as it is. Your resolution and fine detail on the galaxy for such a wide field is positively amazing.

The sky was ablaze like that and you slept through it? That is one amazing setup...and an even more amazing image. Absolutely great.
Congrats,

Almost first tries to image DSO using CCD

Ansuman,
You're off to a great start! My one suggestion at this point would be to gather lots more data than just 10 minutes. How about some more facts on your setup and processing?
Nice going!

SXV H16 - review

Dietmar,
Thanks for posting that. Now, rather than moving up from an MX716 to an SXV9 I'll have to save even more for one of those! It never ends...

Good to see you posting again! Very nice shot, too. It looks like that set up is a winner. One thought (my usual problem on globulars, trust me!) is to dial down the core brightness a bit. Might bring out more individual stars at some expense of contrast.
Great catch,
Larry
