deleted ad

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Something about your ad must not meet the TOS......

1. Personal info in the ad like phone#, address etc

2. Posting duplicate ads in multiple catagories, as I understand it, its one ad per item per day.

3. Didnt have a realistic asking price or none at all, there is an auction section for taking offers.

There are probably one or two more....see the TOS, but I know those will result in the ad being deleted

Combining your account record

Posted By Greg Shaffer

I seem to recall this having been done before, but you will have to contact Herb to get it done.....He is the only person who could make it happen.

I moved here to Kentucky from Atlanta, Ga. and had to get a new computer server and email address. Is there anyway to combine my past Astromart activity on my old email address so it will show up under my new email address and account. Do not know if that is possible or not, if it is can someone direct me to a source for the procedure to do it.

Thanks
Tom

Waite Research questions,

Posted By Greg Shaffer

I would say your 1st step should be to pick up the phone and call them and ask.

I am owner of a Waite Research 17.5" Dob mirror. I had put on it the best coating Spectrum has.
I also paid for Waite Research to make the matching mirror cell. I have already paid for the mirror cell.
I have been waiting for many months without talking to anyone at Waite Research. I do not want ripped off by Waite Research.
My question is if there is a problem occurring at Waite Research?
I need the mirror cell, or I need to make a commitment to creating one for the mirror so I can move forward with building the dob.
I have requested Paypal to step in but it has been too long.
I want to know where to post this in hopes to draw the truth of what is going on.
Thanks all

Why do my adds get deleted? Is there a time limit

Posted By Greg Shaffer

They will be there pretty much forever, but they only show up in the listing for 10-14 days or so unless you specify at the top of the page to go back further, upto 90 days, after that you can only find them by using the search function or looking them up under your My Account page.

If they ARE being deleted there are several things that can be happening....

1. Phone number or address listed in ad

2. Links to other sites where you listed them also

3. Posting more than one ad for the same item (like say listing a SCT case in both the case and SCT categories)

4. Not posting a legitimate asking price (there is a auction page for that)

Thats all I can think of at the moment.....

Non Paying Bidder

Posted By Greg Shaffer

If you are refering to the Questar auction the high bidder seems to have been around quite a while and has lots of good feedback....I suspect he is just out of pocket (things do happen lol) based on looking at his history.....I would give it at least another 24 hrs before I got concerned at all....depending on the urgency of your own situation perhaps another 48.....You might consider contacting the next highest bidder to see if they are indeed intrested so you can lock in the option should he not get with you in 24 to 48hrs longer.

You should also take a look at the TOS to see if there are any specific terms to the auction process to guide you.....I dont recall if there are.

How long should I wait for the winner of my auction to respond? It's only been two days, but several attempts to contact him have been to no avail.

Seems a bit strange to bid on an auction and then disappear. This kind of behavior is one of the worst things that can happen on Astromart. Do I relist? Do I keep floating? Do I offer to the next highest bidder?
