Wow, is that ever fun to wander around in! Had to do an MMM (Mini Messier Marathon) while scrolling around the "picture" and using averted imagination. M31 shows nicely. Looks like everyone was having a good time under some pretty good skies!

Either telescope on its own plus the associated mounting gear and camera(s), diagonals, finders, eyepieces is perfect. Together - forget it.
Even on a 900 you are going to be pushing the envelope a bit although it should be on the comfortable end of things if you figure on mounting these in tandem plus the gear to use them.

The outer surface of the rough looking silver draw tube. Rack it completely out and rub in on with your fingers or a cloth. There doesn't have to be a huge amount, just enough to completely cover the draw tube with an extremely thin layer. The roughness you feel may be due to what little grease remains mixed with dirt and dust. Complete disassembly and a thorough cleaning with a solvent prior to re-greasing might be prudent.

That's an amazing picture. It seems to indicate that there either is little or no rotation of the nucleus and that there may be two jets of gases being released or that there is a slow rotation of the nucleus and a single jet is exiting the comet to the upper left at the current time with the older material expanding into space to the right. The nucleus sure looks dark in comparison. This would be interesting to track. I wonder if any of the earthbound scopes can get high enough resolution shots to continue to add information?

I have mentioned this before elsewhere but have been remiss in not showing some pics here. The ads extolling Binoscope and Joe's tube shortening service caught my eye. I was looking for someone to slice my AP130EDF tube in half and make adapters to put it back together for airline carry-on purposes. Here is a few pictures and the result. First the 'before' pic.
