Help. OIII or LPR, need identification

Posted By Dominique Dierick

I sold an LPR and an OIII filter on astromart, they are Lumicon but unmarked on the ring. In order not to ship the wrong filter to the buyers, I'd need to identify them.
Unfortunately it is cloudy here, so I can't check.

One has a redish hue, the other a greenish. The redish one cuts off streetlights much stronger than the greenish one. In fact through the redish filter, the streetlights (Natrium) turn bloodred.

Which one would be the OIII?

Tx for the help and forgive my visual ignorance. I am a photographer smile

Re: American astronauts will return to the moon...

According to what I heard on the news, it'll cost $50 per American per month for the next decade... If that's true (it seems HUGE), good luck guys with the deficit already. Meaning, I wouldn't count on the deadlines given.

Jupiter with 127mm Mak-Cas

Posted By Dominique Dierick

Finally an evening of relatively good seeing in Belgium...

While doing polar alignment of the AP900 GTO with a 127mm Mak-Cas from Intes Micro, I noticed fair to good seeing, so I switched to Jupiter.

This image was taken with the M500 @f30.

Moon pushed to the limits

Posted By Dominique Dierick

After seeing a nice color image of the moon made with webcam, I thought it would be nice to push my full moon image to the color limits. Might not be like you see it, but it does give nice hints on the substances on the lunar soil:

Mosaic made with HX916 CCD and AP 155 EDF refractor. Downsized to 1/3.

Jupiter on March 17

Posted By Dominique Dierick

There was a high cloud layer making the planet dim on the webcam. Seeing was reasonable, but not really good.

Jupiter with modified webcam in average seeing

Posted By Dominique Dierick

This pic was just made with my C9.25 in average seeing (6/10). I used the macros developed in France to change the behaviour of the ToUCam Pro.

I really like this software modif!

Jupiter important change or optical illusion?

Posted By Dominique Dierick

Hi guys,

It seems that two of the STZ ovals were merging last night. I got it on a few images. However, I cannot vouch it is true, as it might as well be an optical illusion because of limb proximity. Perhaps interesting to follow up, as it will be better placed over the US than in Europe tonight.

Here is a double image.

6 inch f4

Posted By Dominique Dierick

Hi,

Anyone an idea where I could get an excellent 6 inch f4 Newtonian mirror for a project?

Tx.
