Hello all,

I gave the Monday evening Double Transit a try. It was the only clear night we've in quite some time. Transparency was a 5/6 but seeing was a 4/6 . I just know that we'll have a night of 5/6 seeing here.........someday ;^)

Nice scope.......does your dog bite??? And ahh yes Mopar...did have a DART 340 six pack. Sure could hold its own against those V-8 Vega's and 302 Pinto's. Ahh yes..

My new roll-off...almost complete (roof closed)

Hello all,

With all the talk about split roof roll off observatories. I thought I would share some photos of my 8' x 14' observatory. It has a 7'-4" x 7'-4" viewing area with 6'-0" walls for my 10" LX200 and a 7'-4" x 5'-8" warm room for the computer etc.

The roof -on-roof design was fun to design and build. I started this project last Saturday while my wife was at a soccer tourn. smile

And here's the roof in the open position.

It's very easy to open . I don,t expect the additional 240 lbs. of roofing to be a problem at all.

Hello all,
Thought I'd share these up to date photos of my observatory project. I've been opening the roof manually to date. I hope to have the motorized system up and running soon smile Then on to the heated rear area (under the lower roof) for a desk and fold-down bunk shocked Just in time for the Fall.

Here is my solution to my own roof flashing issues with a "roll over" roof.
I have not had water issues (and we've had lots of rain ) sad Hope this helps Mike.

My first Digital Rebel M15

Hi all,

I know.....another M15 shot.... but its my first so have at it. Purchased the Digital Rebel 18-55mm kit and 512mb card with my AMEX points wink (at last). Any suggestions would be great. I'm using DSLR Focus for the timer only at this point. I don't understand the instructions for Focus. Do I need to use the USB cable that came with the camera along with the remote timer / computer serial port cable?

M27 Digital Rebel

Just learning, but this camera sure makes learning fun smile M27 last night fighting a very bright moon.

LX200 10" f6.3
Digital Rebel in RAW mode ISO 800
5 images @ 105 sec each
Combined with Images Plus,Levels in Photoshop.

I think I need start using dark frames. Guess this will be step two in the learning process.
