Mars as seen at the ep

Mars does look even more red in the early morning as seen here in an untouched single frame digital photo of the planet at the eyepiece taken at 9:09 AM Pacific Standard Time (obviously after the Sun has risen). By the way Saturn looks brownish as well but more closer to dawn than after sunrise.
If you want to see even more apparent color look at Mars (or even Saturn) with both eyes open, one in the Ep and the other at the "virtual" image that appears.

Red Moon Fri 13 2008

Anyone see the red moon last night Fri June 13 08 in the S.F. Bay area?
It was over cast and the Moon appeared red as Mars, almost like an eclipse, this was from 11:45 PM.
I took a quick photo which I'll post later.

The title says it, 11:41 PM tonight Pacific standard time 12-20-2010 is the start of a partial Lunar Eclipse that should last well into the morning around 2AM 12-21-2010. Unfortunately the rainy weather may not allow viewing here.

SM40/BF10

My solution to mounting the SM40 on a ZenithStar 80MM and the optical difference is remarkable with the BF10, making the PST look like a 60mm scope vs. a 100mm optically speaking.

Dec 10 2011 starting around 4:45AM is the last total Lunar eclipe till 2014 and I just found slooh dot com that is doing a live feed. So if you are in the east coast or just want to see it live this is where you can go. Moffett Field Shuttle's Last flight.

The shuttle Endeavor made it's last flight ever today and flew over the place of it's inception (one of) Moffett Field in Mountain View California and I was there to see it in person and took this photo personally. Farewell!
