Herb or anyone who knows,
I currently have an ad here under classifieds. Is it a no no to also have an ad for the same thing in Cloudy Nights? I seem to recall that it is for E-bay but was not sure if that only applied to auctions. I do not want to run afoul of the Astromart rules and would appreciate some input on this.

Hello folks,
Although I am not new to Astromart I am new to this particular forum. I usually hang out in the Binocular forum. By this time next week I should be receiving a TMB 115 CNC (Silver type) refracting telescope. Although I have had numerous telescopes this will be my first APO refractor. I decided to get one after looking through a friends Televue NP 101. I am a fan of DSO's and have used my 8inch SCT to start imaging them. However looking at a few DSO's through my friends refractor really impressed me for the contrast and clarity. Many of you may identify with me while I am in this stage of anticipation. There is nothing quit like waiting to get a new telescope. Also to help me deal with this I have been scouring the internet to learn as much as I can about my new toy.(Did this before buying it but you know how it is)I have completely gone through Cloudy Nights reading most anything that I could about it. I am finding that there is not that much as it seems that most of the folks with TMB's all are into scopes of much larger aperture. So is there is anyone out there who would feel inclined to chat with me about the TMB 115 I would love to hear from you.
Any tips or tricks regarding this scope or using it for imaging would be of particular interest. Also if anyone knows of a knowledge base for this scope besides the Yahoo TMB group I would love to get that information as well.

As some of you may know I am waiting for the delivery of one TMB 115 CNC.(F/7)Although I have an extensive collection of 1.25 eyepieces I have no 2 inch EP's. I just purchased a 2 inch Televue Everbright diagonal. I would now like to start a collection of 2 inch eyepieces for my scope. I am particularly interested in the Televue eyepieces however there is a large assortment of them and I really could use a bit of advice. I would like to start out with an eyepiece that will give me the best detailed views of DSO's and Messier objects. I am looking for a balance between edge of field clarity (as much as can be had with out FF.)and wide field. I guess what I am trying to say is there an eyepiece that has the sweet spot for looking at DSO's and Messier objects that balances power versus field of view for this scope. I would like this eyepiece to be my first purchase and then go from there. If anyone out there would like to share with me some kind of list starting with the above described EP qualities I would be most appreciative. Another way to look at this request would be if you could only have one eyepiece for viewing the objects I have expressed interest in what would it be.
Money is not a consideration here. I am not looking for the best buy just the best EP in the Televue line.

Well I finally got my new scope set up on a Hercules alt-az mount that I have been using for a pair of Miyauchi Saturn Bino's. This is to be my grab and go unite although I will probably leave the Vixen guide scope off and just use the red dot scope. I have been doing my CCD imaging with a Celestron Ultima 2000 and cannot wait to use this scope. Just one small detail and that is a decent equatorial mount. I am thinking entry level a G-11 with Gemini 3.
That is going to have to wait a few months as I refuse to go into debt for a hobby and always pay cash when I buy. That's gonna be hard to do this time.

Day after day I check this forum to see if there is anyone posting some news or information about TMB products. This has been a very quite and pretty much inactive forum I think because people are quickly directed to the TMB forum on Yahoo. I know that the first response that I got on this forum was from Norm inviting me to join the Yahoo group. It makes me sad that when there is finally some activity on this forum it turns out to be a b.tch fest. I believe that both Norm and Niles have some legitimate opinions but be that as it may both have failed to realize something. When you censor a person even if not meant to be personal it is. Most human being have a deep need for expression and the freedom to do so. When they are denied this it feels very personal. Also if one needs or has to criticize another they should do it on a one to one basis and not publicly. When two people or however many start taking another persons inventory in a public manner that person will tend to be embraced and defensive and the real message is lost. Things like this tend to snowball escalating far beyond the initial event. I know that no one likes to be lectured as I am doing at this moment and that what I have said is self evident to most of us yet it would appear that based on recent activity a reminder is in order.
