Thanks for the comments this far,

Assume I get the main and secondary for my C8 recoated...
How difficult, if it is even possible, is it to re-match the main mirror to the corrector?
Celestron mentioned that for the $325.00 this would be done.

I find it hard to grasp there is a $240.00 price difference and that all $240 is labor & Starbrite.

Mirror Resurfacing for Celestron 8"SCT

I have a C8 with an failing main mirror.

I contacted Celestron and they are asking $325.00 for this service.

I am curious if the average person can remove the main mirror from the mirror carrier/cell and get it back together without the need for Celestron factory collimation? I know I can remove the mirrors from the OTA, but the main must be removed from the mirror carrier/cell. I have read many warnings to NOT do this.

I am quite sure stacking 30 full size pictures would exceed the quality of 30 frames for a 4500 movie...
What is the movie size of a 4500?
