Hi Michael,What binos did you look through,what features
did they have that you liked or disliked.Also were you able
to try them in your scope.

Chris I have been using a binoviewer for three years now and only use a single eyepiece when I need the wider field of view to find something.The Denkmeier 2 plus 2in.OCS
weighs in at 2.24lbs.before any eyepieces are added.You might check for balance issues by adding about 2.8lbs.of weight near the focuser on the optical tube and determine how much weight may be required at the bottom to counter balance the load. You have chosen a fine unit to start with.

Doug I read about your reluctance to apply the scotch tape as a permanent fix.It is understandable,however if you can shim the binoviewer and eliminate the problem then this tells you how much smaller the 1.25in. adapter's inside diameter needs to be
in order to eliminate the problem.Buy a micrometer if you don't already own one, and measure the old and new exterior diameter of the barrel. This will tell you in thousandths of an inch how much smaller the new adapter you will have machined will have to be.Avoid anodizing,this is partially how you got into this in the first place.The etching process necessary before anodizing can take place shrinks the surface minuetly in an unpredicatable manner and ruins carefully calculated tolerances.It is an anathema to machinists.All of the best after market focusers avoid it in locations where tolerances are critical.Ask Bill Burgess or Van Slyke Engineering about it.

I have to agree with Tom,I can only rank the ones I own.I have a Black Night on order from Harry and own A BW-Optic.
So I guess I voted with my wallet.This gives me two binos
one to to use myself and one to share with others at star parties.I have two scopes and a second binoviewer will keep
my wife happier.Once you have looked through a telescope with both eyes you don't want to use one eye.My wife is new to the hobby and never got started using just one eye so a second binoviewer made a lot of sense.Harrys bino won the cost vs benefit contest.I will comment on how the to binos

David, the binoviewer in question is a Lumicom badged BW-Optics.I purchased mine back in 2000.Precisely the same unit
can be had for $535.00. Scotty

Ted what is the focal length of your LX200 or the aperture
diameter. Also what was the FL of your 10in.newtonian.One more question how far out of best focus are you turning the
focus knob when you check collimation.Try a 10mm ep to start
and only defocus enough to see maybe 3 or 4 defraction rings
keep the defocused image small. If you defocus too far, even an out of collimation scope will have the secondary shadow centered.
