mirror question

I just replaced the secondary mirror in my Hardin 10" with one of the astrola mirrors that Hardin sells. They said it would be of higher quality than the original mirror. I noticed while looking at the two side by side, that the new astrola mirror had a slighty yellowish tint to the reflected image, while the original mirror had a white reflected image. Is this because of different coatings? Also, the new mirror is clear glass, while the original is frosted looking.

listening with scanner

Is it ok to listen to HAM transmissions with a scanner. If so could someone tell me what frequencies to listen to , and do you need a special antenna, or will the little 12" one on my scanner work? Thanks.

ccrane company has a flexible 15.75" antenna and a 15' coax antenna. Both are 24 dollars. would one of these be a great improvement over the 7" "rubber duck", I guess they call them, antenna that came with my pro42 scanner? thanks.

I have a couple items for sale here in the classifieds. I thought just for the heck of it I would send myself a message to my inbox. When I checked my inbox there was nothing there. Is that because it new it was just me? Now I'm thinking maybe it's not working, and people might want to buy my stuff and are messaging me, and their not reaching the inbox. Those things look cool. I saw an ad for one made by JMI in S&T magazine. Two 6" newtonians set up as binoculars. I'm gonna buy one when I win the lottery.

The moon was beautiful. Lots of detail,and minimal chromatic abberation. I'm going to keep these binoculars.
