GM8 adequate for a C 9.25?

As others have said - Should be fine. Mine is side saddled on a CI-700 with a Megrez 80, and lots of 2" accessories, camera's etc. Rock solid. I use two 25lb CW's, but it's overkill (they are racked fairly far up the shaft). My guess depending on the accessories 25lb would be minimum and 30 best.

Wavefront error of an average C8 OTA??

I've owned over 10 c-8 OTA and All were at least 1/4 (the few Meades I've owned were about the same BTW). I had one "8" Ultima PEC" that was the finet optics I ever owned - I'd bet 1/10 or better through the whole tube - simply amazing optics. I used to LOVE blowing away thos 4-5" APO's. I have a current C-9.25 that is around 1/6 through the whole tube (estimated by previous owner - I only have a week or so on it with lousy seeing) - which seems about average for these tubes.

JMI sells one. Comes standared with the NGF-S but can be purchased seperately - SCT Threaded Output Adapter—2" - (ADPT2THREAD).

Who Made the CI-700 Mount for Celestron?

I'll even things out. Have a very nice CI-700 and had G-11. Out of the Box the CI-700 out performed in tracking the G-11 ith stand. gears. I've been told by others this is typical. Some say the "upgraded" (ie - extra cost) worm gears for the G-11 makes the mount track better then the CI-700 - but I never had them so I can't really say. It can handle every bit as much weight as a G-11 - I carry a C-9.25 and a Megrez 80 side saddled. Is the fit 'n finish on the G-11 better? yep. But the performance is nearly identical. Most of the "Negatives" IMO are a bit silly - like the non-adjustale tripod. Big deal. I can count on one hand the number of times i've had to adjust a tripod in the field. The only negative issue I have with the mount is its a bit too modular - that is way to many parts. I'm forever re-tightening allen screws....

Always took about 2-3 days for them to reply by e-mail - but they always replyed. Sometimes - by phone - i'd get them right away...Are you using the on-line form on the tech site - or just e-maiing?

Had the same experience - Promised he would figure out "what happened" several times. Chad was nice enough. I finally asked for my money back (PayPal) after it was aparent that it was either lost in the mail or just never sent (2 months)... He never responded after several e-mails BUT the product did arive a few weeks after my request. My guess is he must have lit a fire under whoever does his mailings....

SBIG for C-11/Hyperstar and FSQ wide field?

The ST-5c and ST-237 (Pixcel 255 and 237) will work fine - including color imaging. I have the ST-5C and works fine for a number of scopes. The larger SBIG camera's may be just too big - and use external Filter housings adding inches to the back focus.

Don't discount the MX-5 and 7 also. These - i've heard - work fine.
