I was silly enough to buy a used MK66 at an auktion. Initially I noticed the focuser was very stiff and hard to move comfortably. "First Light" this night killed all my dream of a good Intes scope.... no matter how I turn the focuser, stars stay unfoused. Nothing happens. Seems like the primarymirror does not move att all.
Has anyone here had this kind of "slight problem" cwy If so can it be fixed in anyway, at a decent cost.
Had this scope cheap but now it seems like it was an expensive fraud buisness.
Any suggestions would be most appriciated....

CG-5 synscan

Has anyone here upgraded a CG-5 manual mount with SynScans GoTo kit, if so: any good? Happy for your opinions and thoughts smile Or would it be better to buy a complete new CG-5GT? Not very much expensive!

My first Nagler

I have just bought my first Nagler, in fact the first TV item ever. It will arrive this week, so I expect the bad weather will continue winkIt´s a 13mm T6. Payed 1500 SEK, that is about $230.
I will use it together with my 8"f/6 Newt, Intes MK66, C80ED and ST120.
Will also Barlow it with my Intes 2,4X barlow,except on the MK66.
Hope I have done the right thing.....
I will send a report when first light is over and done!

EQ6 Synscan Pro vs CG-5-GotoNova Kit

What should I buy, a new EQ6 SynScan Pro mount or a GotoNova Kit for my CG-5? The price for buying the EQ6 S.Scan Pro will be about 3X as expensive as only buying the GotoNova for my CG-5.
The scopes I intend to use on any of the mounts are: Orion Optics Newtonian UK 8" f/6 (7,2kg), Intes MK66 (7kg) and maybe sometimes C80ED and ST120.

Any advice would be most helpfull.
I am just a visual observer, I don`t do any astroimagening! But I really would like a good GoTo mount wink

Hello all!

How do TDE show up in a Newtonian scope? I mean at actual observing at high power.The out of focus patterns are well known;sharp diffraction rings out of focus and fuzzy, almost washed out inside focus.
