Don't know if I am the best person to reply, because I've never been to the WSP or Chiefland. But I've attended the GSV and the PSSG at this same location over the past 10 years I have always enjoyed myself.
I have always been able to observe all DSO's so I guess it's pretty good.
The only draw back is the Air traffic heading into Atlanta to land, but slows down after 11pm.

Indian Spring State Park has a really nice meeting hall for talks and also as a nice shower room, and Sleeping bunks for both Men & Women
We always have a great time and the folks that host this event are the best!!! I highly recommend it.

Hey Guys
I just got back from the Middle School two blocks away from my house. It has a good low horizon to the east. I was joined by two other fellows Astronomers in our local group and we were able to take some photos tonight. Seems that the best shots of the moon were just with the digital camera itself. Was better not imaging through the telescope.
We did have a pretty clear sky but had 25-30 mph winds which did however calm down at sundown.

Your right! That Sci-Fi movie was vary scary to a young boy back in the day. I remember the anyone who walked in the area where the Martains were underground the ground would open up and the person would be pulled under the ground.
And don't forget about the thing with the cuts on the back of the neck.
Yeah! I stayed under my covers for a long time after watching that movie
