Does anyone know of someone in the Tucson,AZ area that can strip and recoat a 16". I assume it would be cheaper to strip it myself. Has anybody done this? What's involved? How much can I save?

Check with Dean or Donna at Starizona. 1.520.292.5010. They are very knowledgeable about the astro community in S AZ. You also might consider attending the Grand Canyon Star Party. Next year its June 13-20th. Check out www.tucsonastronomy.org for a link.

Effects of HEat on Equipment

Posted By Gary Pakalski

Hi John,
I'm down in Tucson. I usually leave my scope set up and covered until the rains come the first of July. Then I put it away til Sept. When there over. Sometimes I'll leave my gem out and bring the scope in under the patio. That way I keep my polar alignment. Been doing it for years. So far no grease dripping out the bottom!
