Celestron about to be being bought by Synta?? Is this a joke?

Anyone use these eyepieces before? Are they another line from Synta/Guan Sheng?

What are your comments about them?

Hi guys...

Assuming I want to build a 11" f/5 scope. How much flexibility or play do I have in changing the height of the eyepeice when the scope is pointing at zenith? Can I make it at 55"? Is there a maximum or minimum height that I need to consider? I understand that the height can be custom built for the user's height but what are the limitations?

I understand that any person can delete off their ads. I was wondering if this feature is actually good to have. By allowing a seller to have the ability to delete off their ads, wouldn't it be a messy affair if there is ever a dispute on the items sold?

Let's say a seller is selling a package that consist of 10 items in it. After selling, the seller delete off his ad. Now when the buyer receive the package, he receive only 5 of the 10 items. He ask the seller but the seller says there is only 5. The buyer try to find back the ad as an "evidence", but there isn't any.

Wouldn't there be a potential for an issue like this if anyone is allowed to delete off their ads?

Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone here successfully mounted a small scope onto the C6 SCT? I tried looking for the mounting rail at Scopestuff but they didn't have one for the C6. However, I have one scopestuff mounting rail for the LX90. I intend to maybe drill a hole onto the LX90 mounting rail so that I can mount this rail onto the C6. However, I realised that the mounting screws that come with the C6 is too short. If I put the rail on top of the scope and try to use these screws to tighen it, the screws aren't long enough to reach the hole below.

I can try to use longer screws but I am not quite sure of its thread size.

Is there anyone here who has done this? I prefer to use the scopestuff mounting rail because I have already bought the scopestuff guidescope rings to go with the rail.

I would like to ask, for the above scope, is it true that there were two different type of orange colour? I was told that the first batch has an anodised metalic orange but the 2nd batch has a matt orange colour. Is it true?

Hi,

I wonder if anyone here uses the Feathertouch Micro focuser FTM-M8 for the Meade 8" LX200R? I have this older 8" LX200R (still labeled as Advanced RC) and I wanted to install a feathertouch focuser on it. I am not too sure if the FTM-M8 is the right one to use.

Also, does the installation of this micro focuser provides instruction on removing the mirror shift?

Yes, I bought a Mintron camera from them before. Service-wise they are as good as any reputable dealer. But the wire-transfer part is a bit of an hassle, but because they are selling the Mintron at a good price, I didn't mind the extra charges.

I think they should at least setup themselves for paypal or something, at least it is easier that way. I am not in US, so I buy-sell through paypal in Astromart. I cannot imagine what would happen if I ask every buyer to wire their money to me.

I know this guy...he is a common figure in the Singapore Astronomy forums (www.singastro.com). I don't think he is out to scam you, but maybe his inexperience of dealing in Astromart plus the differences in our trading culture may make it look as if he is a scammer.

Just inform him that you need the money first before you can ship it out should clear whatever misunderstandings between you and him.
