Help with Observing Chair

Posted By david roberts

Thanks to all who offered advice and websites for observing chairs. I'm going to start on a catsperch-like chair tomorrow. I'm afraid the Denver chair would slide down with my weight. At 6'4" and 280 lbs, I need all the support I can get. Hmmm titanium!

What should it sell for?

I think I did misjudge the market a bit, but not in malice. Thanks for all the good advice. I think most folks gave their fair and honest opinion and I appreciate that. I missed the inappropriate post. I finally missed something worth missing! I'm going to redo the classified to a more reasonable market price and see what happens. I want my baby to find a good home. I also want to start my truss dob. Oh the sacrifices we make!

Regards

Need help with eyepiece height

Posted By david roberts

Thanks all. I was considering a FL of 4.5 or so. That's about as fast as I want to go. I want to gaze at the occasional planet but more interested in DSOs. My hobby is woodworking so I want to try my hand at building as much of the scope as I can, except grinding the mirror, which I will leave to the pros. Is thre a book someone could recommend to build an open truss dobsonian, especially showing plans for a mirror cell. Thanks again.
