Optical Tube Case

Where is a good resource into making a nice case for my Celestron 9.25 SCT optical tube. Want to build something that is not as cumbersome as carrying or storing it in the box it came in. But still well protected.

I always wondered how the observing is in the Midwest. Like Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. I never read much about amateur astronomers from those areas. I would think that they have some of the darkest skies around.

What would you recommend for getting started in astrophotography a Canon XTI(10.2mp). XSI(12mp), or 40D(10.2mp). I also plan on using it for regular photography as well. Plan on getting new one.

Books on Planets

I picked up a copy of the Planet Observer's Handbook by Price, from Amazon.com. Thanks for the recommendation. Nice book!. Now I need to get something on Lunar observing. Their is a good review of the book Star Clusters by Willmann-Bell on the website Let's Talk Stars with David Levy. smile
