Why do solar telescopes need "pressure tuning"?

From what I understand about the pressure tuner, adjusting it slightly changes the air pressure in the ota causing the refractive index of the air inside to change, hense modifying/ tuning/ optimizing the band pass to the focal plane.

I'm sure someone will correct me if off base, or completely wrong. shocked

According to a thread in the meteor forum below, the the asteroid will be traveling about one degree of sky about every 8 minutes or so. I think it is at about magnitude 11, so you are going to need dark skies and rather high magnifications to see it. You might want to experiment and adjust your magnification to see it well, and be able to track it. Good luck!
