Maybe my wife dosen't love me enough to care about what I wear in public anymore but...I wear mine regularly and share the occassional knowing look with fellow Astro enthusiasts while walking around near my home in Sydney, Australia. I like the current one but would also be interested in getting a newly designed one too.

Eyepieces for Binoculars

I have no idea if they will work for your proposed use or not...

But, I really enjoy my 21 mm Denkmeir eyepieces in my Binoviewer. From memory, they have 20 mm of eye relief and a 65 degree AFOV. I also have a 24 mm Panoptic (mono) which I adore but I'd place the 21 Denks in the same category with respect to quality. I've found them to be fine eyepieces. For the record, I also have the 14 mm Denks as well and think highly of them as well.

13 mm Ethos
31 mm T5 Nagler
16 mm T5 Nagler (eye relief maybe too tight for some so you could go 17 T4 but I do like mine)
5 mm T6 ? Nagler or similar(I've never used so this is a bit of a punt for me)...in reality I'd jump over to the Pentax XW for below 10 mm but sticking with TV I' do something like that.

Favorite Snack While Observing?

What a great topic...it combines two of my favorite things...looking at the night sky and eating!

While living here in Australia I've come to know and love TimTams... TimTams and coffee or hot tea and I'm good to go!

Now if it is group night social viewing then throw in some good Aussie Reds (Shiraz from South Australia) and some King Island Brie with crackers and let the conversation and the night sky roll on.

Interesting topic...I suspect there is something to this...especially with the work versus leisure measures.

It is the justification I've been looking for to go on an equipment spending spree. Sounds like I'll always regret it if i don't! Hope my first wife understands... smile

Like many, I have a fair few Televue eyepieces and count the 24 Pan and 13 T6 Nagler among my most used...I am also quite fond of the Pentax XW line. I have not had experience with a C11 but in my reflectors and refractor would compare the Pentax glass favorably with the Televue...both top shelf!

And while I agree with the previous advice provided...no need to clean until it is really necessary and necessary is actually pretty dirty...

When it is time to clean, don't be afraid to clean it...

Using the methodologies outlined by the others and using a bit of common sense should see you through. Cleaning a mirror is not something that needs to be feared.
