I don't have nearly the FOV as Franks setup. I shot this 1.5 hr Ha image from NC where I was attending Bobfest. AP130 f4.5, ST10XE, Schuler 10nm Ha filter. It's a mosaic in progress.....will probably take me a year to finish it....

Opinions on Astro-printer

I currently have an Epson Photo 750 and it doesn't do well when printing my astro-pics. So I am looking to upgrade. I am considering a Canon 9100i or Epson 2200 or Epson R800. The Epsons have the ability to swap black inks for different uses which sounds interesting. The Canon is $200 less and looks much faster. The R800 is a new printer that is 8x10 max but has some of the 2200 features.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Fantastic Image Ron, I am so used to seeing this and M82 as a wide field shot, I was wondering what it looked like up close. Your giving those RC scope owners a moment of pause. Do you have this mount permimently setup or are you portable?

Question about the D60 camera

I also have a 24-85mm and a 70-300mm IS lens. I can take pics of my kids and M42. Try that with an ST8. Seriously, it is an SLR. It doesn't have the sensitivity as some of the better dedicated cameras, I also have an ST8e ($5400 used), but it is much simpler to use and is a single shot color solution. I think for lunar and planetary work the D60 may be superior to the dedicated CCD's.

Very nice Andrew, I am putting together my first M42 with my ST8XE. What was the shortest exposure you made? You've defined the core quite well. I've got an NABG and I had to shoot 45sec with Ha to really see the core without saturation. Thanks!
