Need Help!!

Posted By Robert Ellis

I've posted this in the astro binocular forum, but this may be the place for it. I just got a pair of binoculars given to me and don't know anything about them. Imprinted is....
On the left side it reads: Hensdolt-Wetzlar 34535.
On the right side it reads: Dialyt 10X50.
These are a straight look through I belive poro bino's. The old leather case has a formed piece of wood in the top of the case. No other markings on the case or binoculars. I know nothing about these like country of manufacture, date of manufacture, possible military, and of course value. Views are Excellent, optics perfect and to me the view is as good as any today. Who maded these knew what they were doing.
Any help would be appreicated as i'm clueless in New Jersey.

thanks

Binoviewer Calasified Section

Posted By Robert Ellis

I left Herb a messae asking him to consider putting up a classified section for Binoviewers and people selling them have left ad's all over the place. As of today there is a Binoviewer classified section. Hope all here think its a good idea. Binoviewers are now coming into there own and we deserve our own classified section.
By the way, I own a Denkmeier Standard w/starsweeper and am in love with it.
What do you all think of this. Hope I did the right thing.

Grab and Go Scope

Posted By Robert Ellis

Hello all, I'm looking for a 80mm to 90mm refractor as a grab and go scope. I'd love a Televue but can't afford the price. I also don't want a piece of junk so i'm kinda looking to spend say $250 to $400.00 price range. I'd buy used here on Astromart if I knew what to buy and how much to spend. I own a 8" SCT but want to broaden my knowledge in scopes. Any suggestions would be appreicated. This has probably been asked before but i'm to lazy to read the previous search forums.
Thanks for any help.

Binolux Binoculars

Posted By Robert Ellis

I just picked up a pair of Binolux binoculars 8X40's and would like some information on them. It says on the bino's 330ft at 1000 yards. Model #23010. Came with a Binolux hard case but no caps or paperwork. What i'd like is some direction on the web to find out when it was made, and in general the web site where I can download some info on it.
Any help would be appreciated. I also can be reached at [email protected].
Thanks bob

Type 6 Naglers

Posted By Robert Ellis

Greetings gentlemen, a question if I may. I am awaiting my purchase of my first scope. Where would you say is a internet site explaining the differences between eyepieces?
I'm getting two eyepieces with the scope a 10mm and a 25mm plossi but I do NOT know the difference between a good, average, or a great eyepiece. I know in the future I will need a better selection but right now I rather read on the real differences. I'm getting a 100mm F10 refractor and i'm sure this will mean something to your knowledgeable people.
Thanks for any help.

Not to change the subject, but are you going to sell the eyepieces your not going to use? If so can you let me know what they are and how much you want? I'm always in the market for eyepieces I need.

LX90 Autostar problems

Posted By Robert Ellis

There is and I belong to a LX-90 group on Yahoo. It has many people who can answer your question. I get about 40 emails a day with people with problems and then the answers. Check out the LX-90 group. Takes a bit of looking but you will find them. Great group and a great bunch of answer to most problems. Off hand i'd say you need to reset your scope. I set my scope to "level", lock both the scope and mount, then point it to the north star still level and use the two star alignment. I've had no problems but I think and i've not done it, completely reset your hand held.
Check out the site........
