Ipotron mounts

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Cant speak on the Pro series....but I have a standard minitower thats around 4 yrs old.....Have had two issues with it, the clutch design on the altitude is a little less than great, because of the knob design it is difficult to lock down enough. I drilled and tapped three equidistant holes around its circumference and installed some posts. That cured that.....The 2nd was the alititude motor gave up the ghost a while back out of warrenty....Here is where Ioptron shines for me....Their customer service was EXCELLENT and the replacement was relatively inexpensive, about $50 as I recall....

There has been much speculation about the new Meade LX mounts before anyone has actually hand their hands on one.

I received an email from one of the popular So Cal (not OPT) retailers saying the LX800 is now available in 10" and 12". I was however extremely amuzed by the tag line of their message.

Do you think they actually meant what they said ? Here is a cut and paste. See if you catch the punchline. I don't think it is what they meant.

NEW MEADE 10" & 12"

LX800 Telescopes

LIMITED QUALITY IN STOCK NOW

Maybe the dealer is not sure about them yet either !!!

Paypal fees ......

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Its kinda rare that I offer what the asking price is regardless of how that is arrived at when I am buying unless its something $50 or less and I think its a fair deal. Usually I see the asking price etc and decide what I am willing to pay....Then send an offer for that amount shipped and paypal'd....and unless its something I really need or want badly I usually skip it if the seller doesnt take paypal....

I sell MUCH less often than I buy but if I do then the price includes shipping and I dont sweat the PP fees amd uusually tell the buyer I would prefer they use PP.

I thought I remembered seeing that AMART was having a Drawing for Supporters ($30 or above) for APril (41 panoptic).

Astromart Ad Notification Errors

Posted By Greg Shaffer

The big question would be were you still able to find the ad on AM?

The reason I ask is there are more than a few that get deleted, some within a few minutes of posting because they contained info like phone number, address etc....

Astromart Ad Notification Errors

Posted By Greg Shaffer

Might have a clue here..... Do you still have the email notice? If so check and see if the link says "astromart..com (note the two periods) Someone else quoted one and it had that in it which obviously breaks the link....

Does anyone receive the following error message on some of the classifieds email notifications?:

Oops! Google Chrome could not find www..astromart.com
Suggestions:
Go to www.astromart.com
Search on Google:

The most recent ad this occurred with was Ad #777269. It's only a small number of ads resulting in the error when the link within the message was clicked. Maybe 1 out of 20, perhaps. This has been happening to me since the servers were moved.

Thanks,
Mark
