I miss Mel. Just goes to show you that two guys with different viewpoints can still get along. I considered him my friend, unlike the one that if I name I’ll then get accused of being gay and infatuated with.

Also, I didn’t intend to have anyone come to my defense vilifying Davis. This is between him and I and don’t want anyone else drawn into the gutter. 

I’m just sick of him dominating this forum and chasing away people whom he can’t get along with. He makes up lies about folks thinking he’s clever or whatever, ignores the subject of the post, and just keeps up with his boring and unrelenting diarrhea of the mouth.

After the dust up I had with Davis the past few days I was looking at my old sent PMs. Seeing a lot of names I've forgotten about who have posted in this forum and ten years ago we were still all complaining about the same individual who has been here for many years and who seems to think he has perfect memory of anything ever uttered or posted in this forum, but who's record, for some unknown reason, was expunged from the beginning of time until around 1/25/2020. I have lots and lots of messages from someone who's name is blank, which was Davis, but all I get when I open them is a 505 error. Nothing about what was said. Nada.

Why do you suppose this is? Why can anyone go back and find a post I made from 10 years ago and more and use it against me when I can't do the same in return? 

Is this forum now just a no man's land where anything goes and some individuals are treated better than others? Back ten to fifteen years ago it was moderated. I know cause I got a warning for posting about something. 

So many folks have posted here over the years that are now gone, one by one, whether by voluntary leaving the hobby, getting sick of the way they are treated here and being chased off, being banned back when Herb banned people, or dying and now this toxic dump only has a few of us left. I wish it was like it was with the likes of Jim Babcock, Patrick Keafer, Clyde Crewey, Jeff Catalina, Brian Lee, Tom Reichel, Jack Day(the last moderator I think) and even Jim McSheehy who wasn't half as bad as Davis but coupled with Babcock they might equal one Davis.

So here I am posting about Davis again and I'll soon be accused of something or another by you know who, but I really don't like the place this forum has become. I say this not because I'm leaving as I'm still paid up through September, but I haven't sold anything in a few years and is the political discourse that occurs in this one forum worth the sum of $1.33 a month it costs to be here? BTW I used to support at higher levels than I do now.

Another BTW, over the years the people I received the most PM's from besides Davis harassing me (which I can't prove) were Mel Maki and Darian Rachel and rereading the exchanges we had shows you can have respectful exchanges with others even though they might believe the exact opposite of you. Even Greg Shaffer, while being snarky, was pretty fair even though he did sometimes goad Davis into going over the top.

Dropping by the Politics Forum is a wee part of my morning coffee routine..  Occasionally I will post.  But in doing so I am perfectly aware that we are all firmly entrenched in our compartments with no hope of movement.

I just wish there were more people here, representing both sides, who'd be willing to engage without the lies and innuendo of the most active participant. I think that ship has sailed though I wish I was wrong. Cheers!
