If it’s the right offer go for it. I love retirement. I’ve picked up my daily exercise, playing guitar and piano/keys, doing astronomy whenever it’s clear and dark, getting back into riding my bike now that my knee is better, enjoying landscaping my yard, and driving our Miata on weekdays when others are working.

I’m even getting back into neglected hobbies like woodworking again and I even have a new one trolling Davis that takes so little time but is so, I can’t say rewarding, but I’m done with his lies, his personal threats to me, and his uncouth behavior on the forum. He’s now going to get called out for any lies and misrepresentations he make about me. Sorry if that’s boring, but how else do you combat his deceit. I’m not being thin skinned here and I’ve taken crap from him for years, but now he’s gonna get as much crap thrown back that he throws. What else is this forum good for? I also have lots of free time, but only a bit spent online here.

I’d much rather talk about music and guitars and woodworking which is where I am most of my time online. This place is really just a distraction from that. The ratio of normal people to jerks on those other forums is way lower that that of the AM political forum.

Exactly why I sold my business. I was 65, already on Medicare and the difference of taking SS early the last seven months months compared to the difference if I'd waited until fully maxed out at 66.5 in June was negligible. I got lucky finding a buyer who paid what I wanted at the right time and it was on the market for 1.5 years. My wife's retirement package covers our health insurance with one of the best Medicare plus plans there is so I'm also very lucky in that regard. Doctors and surgeries ain't cheap, let me tell you.

What part of Australia? My son's ship will in those waters from October to December. I want to take advantage of the discount we get to see Australia and the South Pacific, but this year might be out. Hopefully we are visiting friends who live in Belize in February.

That's not to say he wouldn't be back the winter/your summer(?) after that. He much prefers the South Pacific over the Caribbean.
