So you tell us what to do Democrats

How about this? Since the Republicans are so bright and thwart everything the House tries to advance, how about they propose some solutions? What, if anything, have Republicans tried to do to fix inflation, for example? How about Republicans stop blaming Biden for everything and advance some answers? But they don't, and they won't, because it's easier to point fingers and do nothing.

Besides, as others have already pointed out, inflation is a global problem right now, and the US is in the middle of the pack. If there were an easy policy solution that Biden could implement or advance, he would have already done it.

To be clear, I'm no Biden fan-boy, but it's ludicrous to think that Democrats are "in charge" and simply not doing anything. That is infantile rubbish. The situation is far more complicated than that.

https://www.axios.com/2022/06/13/inflation-rates-around-world-us-china-eu-japan

U.S. inflation rate is in the middle of the pack globally

The big picture:
An analysis of inflation across 111 countries from Deutsche Bank puts the U.S. near the middle of the pack. Among those countries, the median rate of 7.9% year-over-year inflation has more than doubled from 3.0% one year ago, thanks largely to spiking energy and food prices.

So basically you are saying that politicians are just that politicians, flavor doesnt matter.....What you described (bolded above) applies equally well regardless of which party is "in charge".....unless of course you are intimating that only the conservatives are guilty of it....which would mean you are full of shit lol

Of course that part about ohhh its not the Dems fault things are bad because its complicated.....that particular fall back excuse has been used for decades and is SOP for whomever has the reigns......

I find it informative that you say the Saudi's can ramp up production but the US cant.....If the will were there to do it then we could do it. The 1st step would be to clear some of the obstructions to greater production that the US has been piling on the oil industry..... Funny how we got to being energy independent under Trump and even raising our exports, lowering pump prices. Then all of a sudden that all turned around and you claim we cant reverse it? 1st thing is finding the will to do so.....and this administration isnt the least bit interested in that.

They would love to cause legal problems though I think thats a long shot. Popularity problems is the real goal......Given this is primarily just impeachment part III with the hope of keeping him from running again.

Putin certainly deserves some blame for global gas prices......As for Biden, he has done everything he can to drive prices higher in the US in addition to the effect Putin has had......

If only you would have paid that much attention to what Trump said and did before, during, and after 1/6.

Like I've said, I'm no Biden fan-boy, but the amount of control all of you think he has over gas prices is pretty astounding.

Ok....lets timeline it with Bidens actions

When Biden took office the national average price of gas at the pump was $2.09 a gal.....Keep in mind some of his actions directly affects prices and others discourage investment in drilling and processing.

Day 1 in office - He canceled the keystone pipeline (prices start rising)

A week later - He halts all new oil and gas leases on federal land, both onshore and offshore. ie no expansion and federal leases comprises around 25% of oil and gas production. (prices continue rising)

Feb 19th - He rejoins the Paris climate agreement (prices rise more)

May 7th 2021 - Biden takes 30% of federal land off limits to gas and oil leases period (prices keep going up)

June 1st - He halts drilling at Anwar, Alaska, one of the most productive areas there is (prices keep going up)

June 30th - Congress reverses the Trump national gas regulations (price keeps going up)

Oct 7th - Biden reverses the Trump NEPA regulations (driving prices up further still)

Oct 29th - Dept of Interior institutes the "social cost of carbon" regulations designed to drive costs up (prices still rising)

Nov 15th - A moratorium on oil drilling in the Chaco Canyon area, another highly productive area (prices continue rising)

Feb 24th 2022- Russia invades the Ukraine (This is on Putin) although Biden did very little to dissuade it (Prices continue to rise steeply) Putin did NONE of that stuff that came before Feb 24th

Mar 21st - The SEC proposes an anti-oil rule that shuts off equity (discouraging investment), combine this with Biden pick of banking regulators who are trying to shut off debt. So if you have no equity and no debt for drilling oil and gas then you have no money for drilling oil and gas. (So the price keeps going up and up)

May 12th - Biden cancels the remaining lease sales.....(prices keep going up)

So you think Biden and his administration has not directly driven up gas and oil prices in the US? Horse shit.....They have all but reached in our pockets and snatched money out.....as well as purposely discouraged investment in it.

Decision after decision designed to raise the cost of fuel......Meanwhile Biden keeps spouting he cant control it and blaming Putin.....and the left along with the media helps him spread this load of horse manure.....

Didnt copy and paste anything.....typed it out from testimony to Congress video.....

No one put in place more offshore drilling moratoriums than Trump. And he did it in September of 2020, right before the election. It was an obvious political ploy to garner votes from coastal states. Those moratoriums are still in place today.

Got a link for that? 1st I heard of it.

The Keystone XL pipeline was not canceled; it was never even started. It has languished for over a decade, and the investors never started on it.

Yes it was canceled after construction had begun.....8% was completed when it was suspended by none other than Biden when he took office.

Regarding Trump's relaxing methane releases, my understanding at the time was that most companies capture their methane these days anyway and sell it as a by-product.

Not sure I follow you here.....I didnt mention methane. That may well have happened but I was speaking of other regulations regarding oil and gas.

No one has ever explored or drilled ANWR under Republican and Democratic administrations.

What I posted was misleading regarding ANWR the way I put it..... One exploratory well was drilled at ANWR which led to presuming the area is would be one of the largest reserves according to the science. Below is exactly what Biden did so that no more exploratory drilling in ANWR could occur thus negating the previous Act that approved it in 2017.

This next paragraph is a cut and paste lol

On June 1, 2021, the Biden administration announced suspensions on drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) which covers 19.64 million acres of land and water in northeast Alaska. This decision counteracts the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, requiring the Department of the Interior to issue two leases for drilling in ANWR over 10 years.

There are plenty of leases available on federal lands if any companies decide they want to pursue them.

Like I said Biden and his admin have instituted policies and rulings as described in my original post that discourage investment in oil and gas. They did halt any *new* leases on federal land a week after he took office and shortly after that removed 30% of the federal land from the table. Existing leases are not being developed because no one is going to invest millions on a gamble that an unfriendly government wont roadblock you.....

From WHO? An oil company lobbyist? A GOP congressman briefed by an oil company lobbyist?

Rod's standard fallback and most often used tactic is to intimate anything posted is a fabrication in whole or in part unless you provide a link (which may as well be a fabrication in whole or in part). What he fails to grasp is I dont give a rats ass if he believes something or not. smile
