Biden drops out!

Posted By Jim Moscheck

How come Biden was too old? If Trump wins why doesn't it matter that he'll be older than Biden was when he took office? Too old is too old and I don't really see Trump being any more "cognitive" than Biden has been in the last few months when he confuses Pelosi with Hayley and Biden with Obama.

Not to mention, what the the hell he was trying to do yesterday at the National Association of Black Journalists. Trump made a big deal calling the ABC journalist rude who asked the first question, never mind that fact that everything she stated in the question was true. From what I here the pundits say he only cares about black men aged 18-35 and his "message" somehow "resonates" with them. The fine saviors of the Democrats, black women, will some to Harris in droves and convince their sons to do the same with a slap up their head. Don't underestimate the political power of black women on the electorate, even in some red states I imagine.

I don't know who thought Trump's appearance at the NABJ was a good idea, but please, can they be more in charge of his appearances?

But of course, true to form, Trump is doubling down and insisting that he crushed that interview and that the venue was rude, nasty, and biased against him. The rudest and most disrespectful man complained that he was mistreated because the interviewer asked reasonable questions. His team ended the interview early because he was doing so well. Am I right? Wow! I don't understand how this creepy, weird sociopath ever managed to get a stranglehold on the Republican Party. If you ever get him outside of one of his political rallies or a softball interview, essentially his ass-kissing bubbles, and someone asks him real questions, he can't handle it. He is the ultimate snowflake.
And we'll hear numerous far fetched reasons from Trump and the campaign why he won't debate Harris.

I'd say the real reason is he's chicken. She would annihilate him and they know it.

If I was her I'd keep goading him on. It sure couldn't hurt her and makes him look weak and scared to debate her, a woman. Then again, he'd just say she is nasty and rude as he does to all strong women who present him with facts using his own words.

This is the republican nominee folks. My Dad is rolling over in his grave, as is his hero Ronald Reagan.

This place is really quiet when they are no crazy antagonists running amuck. I do realize it's prime vacation season....

....but I'm bored and it's so hot I'm doing yard work today in shifts in-between jumping in my little pool that is 90 f'ing degrees, which is warmer than it's ever been, and hanging in the shade under the patio awning and surfing the internets.

I just got back myself from a few great days in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, at least the eastern end. I also took my time coming back through the western Lower Peninsula starting about 30 miles east of the Mackinac Bridge on the north shore of Lake Huron, across the bridge then on to the famous Tunnel of Trees which starts in Cross Village It was early on Monday morning and had the whole narrow smooth asphalt roadway, mostly without a center line, all to myself for the first 19 of it's 30 miles or so. Saw eight cars before I reached the end in Petoskey. If you are ever in norther lower Michigan it's a must do drive. Here are some images and obviously most are taken in the fall, but anytime of year is awesome. Being summer some of the views of Lake Michigan below the bluffs were somewhat obscured by foliage.

https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=tunnel+of+trees+michigan+map&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Then I drove around the Leelanau Peninsula (Michigan little finger of the Mitt) on M22 from Traverse City north along Grand Traverse Bay to Northport, then it becomes M22 south following the Lake Michigan shoreline through the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and the sand dunes, past beautiful Crystal Lake, and then ended at the port town of Frankfort. I turned SW away from the coast to head back home, but still had 70 miles of two lane highways until I hit a freeway in Clare. What an awesome, but very long drive in my Miata with the top down the whole way. My wife would have hated it, she only put up with that car until we reached a destination. Go for a ride just because? No way.  I had a blast but was very tired when I got home.

I kept checking here to see if there was any discussion of any of the recent political news and have since even mentioned Trump's antics at the NABJ meeting and got nothing.

Anyways, as to the first part of my title I got most of this from Google:

For the plot structure of a good story (or an internet forum in our case) to come to life, it needs both a recognizable protagonist and antagonist with whom the audience can connect with. The interaction of these characters ‌creates both conflict and drama.

Without them, you have no climax or resolution (as if that'd ever happen here LOL), and the story( or forum) will be flat and uninteresting.

What is the Difference Between a Protagonist and Antagonist?

The protagonist of a story is the leading character, while the antagonist is their primary opponent. Both are nouns. Often (but not always, especially in our forum), the protagonist is the good guy or hero, while the antagonist is the villain who actively opposes the protagonist or is a hostile force. (Here it depends on who starts a thread and how divisive it it.

----------

I guess this is a roundabout way of saying where are our antagonist9s)? Jim Brown is much too polite to replace the one who really gets this place into a hubbub. Now I'm sure Davis (shit, I mentioned his name) will now come out of the woodwork and I'll be accused of secretly being in love with him.

Ick. Excuse me while I go wash my mouth out with soap for saying that.

Anyone know of a good brain disinfectant so I can get that thought out of my brain, too?

I once heard his idol Trump say "I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that."

And: "So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it's ultraviolet or just a very powerful light — and I think you said that hasn't been checked because of the testing,"

"supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or some other way, and I think you said you're going to test that, too."

Yeah, maybe it'll work on just the brain by eliminating sick thoughts, too? LOL.

What do any of the Trump supporters that may still be here have to say about the above presidential quote after it's percolated in your minds for the last three and a half years? Your guy said it four years ago, do you think he's any more cognizant now that he was on that day? To any thinking person that quote should forever disqualify him to be anything but being a retired, privileged, old, rich, and stupid white guy who has gotten every break imaginable his whole life.

Anyways, wasted too much time with this. Back to yard work.

Hi Jim. I've had a year of retirement to do all of that stuff around the house and garage and it still isn't done. I'm starting to think this place is too big for just me, but it's more or less paid for and the kids and grandkids like all the amenities when they come to visit. it was more fun (and less work) when I had Deborah to help me. I priced getting a cleaning person for every other week and was flabbergasted with the cost per hour, even for someone that is doing it on the side. Wish I had the balls to ask for that much money when pricing my services when I was working.

No, I'll do it myself, although I will remember, as did my wife, that when I save some dough by doing it myself I won't feel guilty when I want to buy something, let's just say, frivolous like a new tool, some new or used LP's, a guitar, or an astronomy gadget. I also wish I could buy her some flowers or a new piece of jewelry.

I know. I was in my garage last night with my floor fan going and listening to music and could still hear them. I though I had some sort of interference or that there was something wrong with my speakers.

Er, ah, I posted the recent thread about the market tanking and recession fears, both of which, according to the media and various pundits, may very well propel Trump back into the WH and got zero replies. The rest of the nation seems to be talking about it so I thought there might be some interest here but...

That said, I observed from Mt Pinos on Tuesday night and despite it being an overcrowded zoo from the media hyping the two meteor showers this week plus the upcoming Perseids next week, the transparency was superlative and so much so that m33 was a naked eye object and m31 appeared as a naked eye galaxy and not just a grey patch in the sky. The milky way arched overhead from one horizon to the other and appeared like, an actual galaxy and not a moth eaten dust cloud.

Telescopically, the filaments of the veil were clearly etched in the 30mm eyepiece/0111 filter of my 16" reflector and the great wall in the north american nebula was something to behold.
I would've responded but when it comes the chance of the market tanking I don't want to dwell on my long term investments. This happens a lot in August and hopefully is just a blip.

George Conway's new PsychoPAC ad playing in south Florida: Trump is a psycho. He's Unfit for Office.

It's like a greatest hits package in 30 seconds. I understand Donny was watching his stories the other night and saw the ad. He's not happy. Hahaha.

George Conway's new PsychoPAC ad playing in south Florida: Trump is a psycho. He's Unfit for Office.

Brilliant to run the ad in south Florida on Fox News and the Golf Channel.

Donny responded on "Truth" Social:

“Why do they allow the perverts at the failed and disgraced Lincoln Project to advertise on FoxNews? Even Mr. Kellyanne Conway, a man so badly hurt and humiliated by his wife (she must have done some really NASTY things to him, because he is CRAZY!), is advertising on FoxNews,” Trump continued Monday, referring to his former adviser Kellyanne Conway’s ex-husband, George Conway."

Yeah, he also didn't like the poll they put up with Harris one point ahead.

“We have to WIN WITHOUT FOX!” wrote Trump.

Good luck with that Donald. I believe Fox is a business and they'll take advertising money from anyone if it'll boost their bottom line. As a Warton School of Business graduate and self proclaimed business genius I think you'd know that.

The help at Mar A Lago asked him, "Mr. President, sir? Can we please change the channel from that nasty Fox News for you? How about the Golf Channel, sir, we know you like watching that."

All of that and our home is paid for, and I couldn't live anywhere else cheaper,
Yeah, I still have trouble being in the house that much. I eat and sleep and watch a little TV, but mostly since she passed I'm out in the backyard and garage which is where I am now. I haven't touched her clothes yet, her yoga mats are still in the same place she left them and I clean around them. I told my kids that I wasn't making any major decisions for at least a year, so I'll be here for at least that long. I also have an elderly sister who still lives nearby in my mom's old house so I have to be around.

When my son's current contract is over on Dec 23rd he'll be flying home from Sidney, Australia and will be moving in with me for at least six months until he goes out on another contract on a new ship. We are planning, with help from my daughter, to go through the entire house in January, get rid of a few old pieces of furniture and buy some new to replace it, and paint the whole main floor. These are all things Deborah wanted to do this winter. We'll also pack up her clothes for donation. I also want to clean out and organize my basement and tear out an old ugly barn wood bar in our rec. room to create some more floor space, something I've wanted to do for 20 years since we bought this house.

I'm waiting until January as I need the extra muscle. I've also decided I need to get away for a while. Deborah and I planned to drive to New England this fall in our Miata. There are only four states I've never been to: Hawaii, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine so I was going to knock out three of them with this trip. I don't know exactly how many Deborah had visited but she wasn't too far behind me. We were planning to come back through Canada and see Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto, too. Well. that's going to wait, but I did decide to take a long cruise on Joe's ship. I'll post pics of the destination(s) and a recap of the trip when I get back. My yearly membership will lapse while I'm gone and I threaten ever year that I won't re-up, but (and I hate to say this out loud) this place has been a little more kinder and gentler than it has been in the past so I'll be back. I'm also sure that the kinder and gentler thing is temporary.

Oh, I have my moments, believe me. Many factors went into the decision to take this trip, more than I'd want anyone to bother to read, but it was almost like Karma, something that Deborah firmly believed in. If I didn't have my son to share it with I'd never do something like this so soon after she passed, but it was/is definitely on both of our bucket lists, or at least part of it is.
