UK Election

Posted By Maurice Clark

Hi All,

Watching the results in the UK election. Looks like the conservatives are in for a drubbing. Could lose as many as 260 seats!

Shows what can happen when seat boundaries are drawn by an independent electoral commission and gerrymandering is outlawed.

Biden was as bad as could be. Now of course they are making up excuses for him. Even the leftist media was saying that he was bad

One problem I see with Governor Whitmer is... is the USA really ready for a woman president?

Trump assassination attempt.

Wow! richie really went off the deep end! Considering the gutter expletive he was using, I guess he didn't get any this weekend. The local massage parlour must have been closed.

Senator Ron Johnson At RNC: "Dems A Clear & Present Danger"

Posted By Maurice Clark

Interesting that trump has chosen Vance as his running mate. Especially as Vance has called trump "An idiot", "reprehensible" and "America's Hitler" back in 2016. Fast-forward eight years and the now 39-year-old first-term senator has transformed himself into one of Trump's staunchest backers. Shows just how much the republican party has become the party of trump.

Biden has covid

Posted By Maurice Clark

Hi All,

President Biden has pulled out of a scheduled appearance in Las Vegas after testing positive to COVID-19.

Although the White House is saying his symptoms are "mild", I wonder if this could give him the cover to drop out of the race?

Meanwhile, Vance has refused an invite to a debate with Harris on 13 August saying, "We don't know who the Democrat nominee for vice-president is going to be, so we can't lock in a date before their convention."

So one wonders if the Democrats will hammer trump as being too old and senile now. Treat him as he treated Biden.

Also, since Harris is a former AG and prosecutor, she can try to frame the campaign as who is tougher on law and order. A prosecutor versus a convicted felon!

Catch ya later, See ya, Tavvauvusi, Sayōnara, and Aloha!

Hi Jim,

Enjoy your trip, it sounds great. I hope you do renew, there are few enough of us left posting here and with the election getting close, things could get interesting.

Speaking of trips, I have just returned from a 900+ mile tour of the western US. Traversed 21 states and visited 19 national parks as well as historical places like Deadwood. Two great things about the US are your interstate highway system, and your national parks, especially with the senior pass. I wish Oz had such a great system.

Cheers,

Maurice

When I left home I bought gas for $2.99 gal. Here in Seattle it's $4.29 gal or more. I've never seen so many Teslas on the road. Haven't see a single Cybertruck, so many the folks in these parts have good taste.
Hi Jim,

I was away from about a month. The cheapest I paid for fuel was in Oklahoma at $2.95. The most expensive was in Oregon at $4.39. I by-past many in California which were over $5.00!

Unfortunately I had to stay in motels all the way. I had the wife and 2 of her friends from Malaysia along. Travelling with 3 women! If I had been on my own I would certainly have camped. So much better than motels all the time.

Cheers,

Maurice
