All I know is down here in FL that most of the "stuff" that I store in my attic, especially the plastic items, deteriorate very rapidly because of the heat. I would also imagine all the lubricants would quickly melt and flow to places they wern't supposed to as well. I would really think hard about a LOT of insulation and some means of cooling.

I have owned one for 3 or 4 years now and it continues to be my most often used ep. I don't wear glasses when I observe, so although the eye relief is a little tight, it is easy to see the entire fov when the eye is placed close.
I use it in conjunction with a 2.5x Powermate and the resultant power is optimal in my 10" f/6 dob.
I also have some recently acquires UO orthos that I find just as sharp and even the 6mm has adequate er but with a much smaller fov.

Sol, I continue to be amazed at not only your drawing ability but the clarity of your observing conditions as well. Everyone raves about the seeing here in FL, and it can be good, but you have been blessed with a "magical" location for sure!!

24mm Pan + 5x powermate anyone?

A friend has a 130mm f/6 AP refractor. He routinely uses a 20mm plossl with a 5x Powermate for some excellent planetary views. I see no reason the 24 Pan would not be just as good.

Ido, one of your pics shows a light pole near your observatory. How is the light pollution there and how dark are the skies?
I have several friends who have visited Israel but none are amateur astronomers so they can't talk intelligently about the skies over there.
Nice observatory! I am sure it gets lots of use.

That's good to hear. I have the 30mm version (origional KK) and am pleased with it in my 10" f/6. Yes the extreme edges are a little soft but not really bad. Last night I took my 4" f/10 out to our dark sky site and was very impressed with the 30mm with that scope. The double cluster was simply breathtaking , the WHOLE thing in one fov, and sharp to the edges. If the 20mm is as good I think I will get one.
