Trump Deserves Praise

for his strong condemnation of Syrian gas attack (and imminent US strike), as well as new tough sanctions on Russia late last week:

Of course he did the right thing in condemning the chemical attack and in eventually sanctioning the Russians but he should have done the latter long ago instead of waiting for God knows what.
With regards to Syria, he wants to leave while his own advisers tell him we need to stay and he's ticked about that. Unless he wants to fire off another round of cruise missiles which frankly last time had to do more with a show of force than it did with military deterrence and success, our continued presence there is probably a significant factor in preventing more of these kinds of attacks and Trump wants to pull out.
Did he do the right thing? Yes. Praise? No.

Yeah, and there was another guy on the forum who would post the debt clock with "Can You Hear Me Now!"

Now, how 'bout that Syria strike eh?  Personally I liked it.  The reports indicated that every single USA smart bomb hit its target and Assad fired 40 missiles at nothing.

Isn't that whole response rather shocking considering that Putin and Trump have been in cahoots with each other for half a decade and Trump is actually a puppet for Putin?  What gives?  I mean since Trump is a Russian Operative KGB spy, why would he and Putin do something that Putin seemed to not want happen in Syria?

It sure is a puzzler.  Maybe one of the Libs here can explain it?  wink
Well Rich, here we go again...
For starters, Trump repeatedly stated throughout his campaign that he wouldn't broadcast his intentions in the middle east and elsewhere lest our enemies be alerted and prepared for our actions. So, what does he do with Syria? First, he states publicly that he wants to leave. In McCain's opinion, that embolden Assad to move forward with the chemical strike. Trump's own military advisers told him not to pull out from Syria. All he did was get pissed with 'em and broadcasts his intentions as he did when he also "tweeted" his plans to fire missiles into Syria. Glad the strikes happened and I say strikes because the UK and France also participated and let's give credit to them as well. The media reports are that Syria, fully alerted by Trump's tweet, moved troops and facilities elsewhere in advance of the strikes so the actual impact of the attacks may not be fully realized. Russia has been a dominate player in Syria for a long time and Trump hasn't done anything about that until now when he supposedly is gong to launch some sort of diplomatic effort to "pressure" Russia and Iran to relent in that region. I guess we'll have to wait for his next "tweet" to tell everybody all about that, too...

Greg/Rich,
You should have watched CNN today. They went into the manufacturing plant for Raytheon cruise missiles in a city/state that is classified for security reasons.
Once there, just about everything you wanted to know about a cruise missile in a couple of minutes or less was presented for your viewing enjoyment. For example, a technician was performing a "roll test" on one of them which is about 20 feet long and weighs 3,300 lbs. It other words, it's a big sucker! According to the raytheon spokeswoman and tour guide, it can "swim. loiter doing figure 8s, and fly into its target within a few feet". Now, getting back to that "roll test": the tech turns the thing on its bench quickly to listen for any loose parts that are rolling loose inside! I kid you not! Apparently, some of them in the past got thru QC with loose screws rattling around inside of them! Do you think that would have happened with Televue? I doubt it. I could just imaging some tech working on the thing when break time rolls around and off he or she goes for starbucks and when they get back they forgot where they left off and some silly screw isn't sufficiently fastened and it becomes a rolly-poley...

Hey, let's stop arguing now. It's "Mission Accomplished" all over again! Trump says so. Time to pack your bags guys and call it a day. The Syrians really didn't move their stuuf when they read Trump's tweets about those cruise missiles coming their way. The Russians aren't really there anymore and we're pulling out of Syria, too.
So get back to your rifle making class before you're late again...

Is that a "sufficient" enough test for you Rod?  wink

I'm basing it on the history of the regime for doing that very same thing. In other words, they make an agreement with whatever outside political entity happens to be in power at the time and then break it soon afterwards...

Rich,
At best, your comment is just another troll-like response from you. If you can't see the difference between an American president failing to deliver on a promise he couldn't ultimately keep, despite his best intentions to do so even after a variety of politically-based opposition tactics, and then apologizing to the nation in the aftermath, and a communist regime with a history of disassembling a cooling reactor tower and then reassembling it after sanctions were eased back in '08, then you are simply a wingnut political hack that you've always been...
