Don't like modern country or bro country at all, but a good song is a good song no matter what the genre.

Due to my hand injury I've been kicking around the idea of getting a lap or pedal steel, but worried that the learning curve will be too steep for this old guy. This is the kind of stuff I enjoy and is on one of my favorite albums. Also dig Emmylou Harris, listened to her a lot when I lived in Colorado in the early 80's and saw her at the Greeley Stampede in '82.

Enjoyed the Byrds back in the day myself.....though when it comes to the country side of rock I am more of a Allman Bros, Marshall Tucker, Ozark Mtn Daredevils guy.....

How in the world is the fact that the sun rises in the east a social construct? I gotta hear this one smile

LOL....so this is a battle of semantics in an attempt to avoid dealing with facts.....got it

The sun coming up over the horizon is NOT a social construct.....its just a fact.

Damn....I hate conversing with idiots.....how you describe what it does is irrelevant, it is still a fact, like I said you want to argue semantics to keep from admitting Rich pinned your ass to the wall, nothing new there lol

Rich stated that the sun rising was a fact..... Lacey argued that it isnt a fact but a social construct. In other words Lacey wanted to turn the sun coming up into a semantic argument to avoid the fact that it just is a fact, same as a man cant give birth to a baby lol

(although it does occur to me that my time here in this group does at times confirm there is such a thing as an asshole baby so maybe there is wiggle room on whether men can have one) lol

I gave my opinion on the abortion issue a few days ago and you agreed with it......not interested in beating a dead horse smile

You, me and Rich have been here for years on top of years.....has there ever been a time when Rich hasnt been willing to beat the abortion horse at the drop of a hat? No.....it is something he feels strongly about. This latest crap from the left about men can have babies is ridiculous and I get Rich wanting to point that fallacy out and get an admission from those on the left that it is ridiculous. Yet the left on here avoids it at all costs, even using semantics to argue about the sun rising smile

I would be happy to participate in a thread about the politics of transgenderism.  As usual my position would be nuanced.  I have no problem with men or women identifying as the opposite and living their lives as such.  I'm a libertarian at heart.  I do have a problem with post-pubescent boys transitioning and then competing in women's sports.  I do not think that is fair to born women.   I think I understand some feminists who think trans-women are not the "same" as born women, because the transwomen did not share the same life experiences.  That said, I 100% try to treat the trans people I meet from time to time with respect, use the preferred pronouns and so on.

We could have a discussion.  Instead, Rich loudly and immaturely demands "answers."  I think he is merely deflecting.  You think he is making a point.  We disagree, but that is OK too.

And NO ONE claims they have said that.....just that they support those who are saying it and rather than admit the ones claiming it are full of shit they will argue all around it without addressing it. What part of that escapes you counselor? I explained why Rich keeps repeating the question and yet you still refuse to recognize it.... You seem reasonably conservative but you sure spend a lot of time here toting water for the other side smile

I am fine with whatever delusions people want to hide themselves in however this push to allow men to participate in women's sports is a few steps over the line into stupid so stupid its trans-stupid, meta-stupid.

I dont "think" Rich is making a point....I know he is and he did it quite well with this latest round.
