How about all the others?

And let me just posit something to you about your last statement.

Is that an excuse or just a joke from you?

Really? This is what you actually think, that they swept it under the run because it would "reflect poorly on those who provide abortions within the law"??

I mean to say, I have to choke down my Iced tea on that one.

When did the leftist media ever NOT report on mass shootings because it would "reflect poorly on all those gun carrying citizens who are law abiding"?
Is your search engine broken?  Here are a few hits that came up when I Googled CNN and Gosnell:

https://www.cnn.com/2013/05/12/us/abortion-trial-significance/index.html
https://www.cnn.com/2013/05/15/justice/pennsylvania-abortion-sentences/index.html
https://www.cnn.com/2013/05/15/justice/pennsylvania-abortion-sentences/index.html
https://www.cnn.com/2013/05/14/justice/pennsylvania-abortion-doctor-trial/index.html
https://www.cnn.com/2013/03/04/us/pennsylvania-gosnell-trial/index.html
https://www.cnn.com/2013/03/04/us/pennsylvania-gosnell-trial/index.html
https://www.cnn.com/2013/04/24/justice/pennsylvania-abortion-doctor/index.html
https://www.cnn.com/2013/04/29/justice/pennsylvania-abortion-doctor/index.html

And that was just page 1 of the hits!!!  There are literally dozens more!

So your premise that this story was not reported by lefty media is flawed.  It's BS actually.  If you were to argue that CNN reported this story quantitatively "less" than Fox did, then I would agree.  The bias of both these outlets is well known and beyond dispute.

Also, I stand by my statement that CNN would report on this story less than Fox did (even though CNN obviously covered it quite well) because CNN knows that it reflects poorly on law-abiding abortion providers, whom the CNN staff and editors predominately support.

What is your theory?  That CNN allegedly failed to cover the Gosnell story because they support infanticide?  That would be as preposterous as your stupid thread title.  You have been proven wrong here Rich.  Take it like a man.  Jim

There is no "RARE" any longer when it comes to abortion and how many they want.

SOME Democrat women have been proud to say they had abortions.

Used to be that women who did get abortions tried to keep it to themselves, but now SOME Democrat women literally brag about it.

Democrat comediennes are just that sick:

Does that humor appeal to you?

It sure doesn't to me, but the leftists in the audiences obviously think its a laugh out loud moment.

Your party of sickos is enough to make a person cringe.

P.S. I think that's about the time that your party went off the rails.
Are facts meaningless to you?  The abortion rate and total numbers of abortions in the US have been declining steadily since about 1990.

I see Rod has already demonstrated Rich's premise to be, putting it kindly, "flawed."

However, for Rod and James and anyone who is interested, the Gosnell case did create some interesting reflections on the patterns of media coverage.  Even though the Gosnell case was in fact covered across the entirety of the wide range of media outlets, contrary to Richard's BS, it was covered differently by different outlets, and perhaps covered less than a story like this should have been.  Media bias should surprise no one.  But perhaps the reasons for this divergence in coverage style are more complex than simple pro or anti abortion bias?  There is a good discussion here:

This too is a really stupid attack.  The left leaning media is biased against the 2nd Amendment and biased for abortion rights.  Meanwhile, the right leaning media is biased for the 2nd Amendment and against abortion rights.  Surely even you can see that, and then acknowledge the legitimacy of my original point?

(Recognizing that my original point was A. only part of the bigger picture, as reflected in the Atlantic piece, and B. premised upon your BS that the left media did not cover this story at all)

Well let me reprint the pertinent stuff.

You stated this:    So your premise that this story was not reported by lefty media is flawed.  It's BS actually.

Its BS is it?  What are the dates on your story there?  You're supposed to be a guy who is checking out patents so I think the Date of something would be an issue you look at closely.

Do you know when Kermit Gosnell was arrested for his house of horrors?

Let me fill you in.  He was arrested ON Jan 19, 2011.

Note that date counselor.

When are all of your stories listed there?

Try 2 years + Later.  Your earlier story there was in March of 2013.

I don't know if you're good at math but that's 2 years and 2 months AFTER the STORY broke.

CNN and the others largely IGNORED the story when it occurred.

Those stories are about the Trial.  CNN apparently wasn't really interested in the STORY when it happened 2 years Earlier.

Maybe you're just not as sharp as you think.  CNN only reported it on it when they caved to the pressure to finally cover the story.

Here's a link you might like to read:

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/cnn-reporter-gosnell-served-the-community-gave-free-medical-care/

From that article:

Pro-life activists on new media have forced the hand of the mainstream media, as CNN has agreed to cover the Kermit Gosnell trial on at least two of its news programs.

CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper devoted one segment – the program's last before the weekend – on the trial, beginning at approximately 4:45 p.m. Eastern time.

The coverage lasted less than five minutes.

Tapper's only guest, Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Joseph Slobodzian, has attended the daily testimony for the newspaper.

Tapper referred to the Gosnell trial as “a buried lede,” before telling the audience he had covered the story last month.

WOW, all of 5 whole minutes did Jake Tapper give to cover the Trial of Gosnell, 2 YEARS later.

Where was all the coverage on CNN 2 years prior to the trial?

Where was the PRIME Time CNN coverage on CNN more than 2 YEARS earlier, WHEN the crimes occurred, and Kermit Gosnell was arrested?

No, they swept it under the rug.

IF they gave it any coverage at all, it was very little and wasn't front and center on Don Lemon's show or whomever was their Prime Time pundit at the time.
Those were just the stories from page 1 of the Google hits.  For all I know there were CNN stories in 2011 too.  Anyway, the Gosnell story was obviously covered by CNN, so your original premise is BS.  If your original premise has been changed now to "the coverage was biased" my reply would be a sarcastic "no kidding."  Jim

You had to make 4 separate postings to say I was full of shit.

So then don't give me your "the Gosnell story was obviously covered by CNN".

Its not obvious to anyone except a gullible tool for the left as you've always been.

If the did give it any light, it was barely any, so then show me ALL the Google hits that have story after story BACK In 2011 WHEN he was arrested, you tool.

I doubt there were very many if any, and if there were, they weren't very interested were they?

Where were those lead stories on CNN, that they spoke about PRIME time, night after night of one of the most heinous Abortion mill stories to come down the pike in decades if not EVER?

You can't back up your horseshit accusations that CNN covered the STORY WHEN it happened.

Covering a trial 2 YEARS later and not giving much if ANY attention to it back when he was arrested, proves my point, and shows that they did engage in their regular cover up of anything the puts the left's agenda in a bad light.

Yet, you're the regular apologist for the left, so it doesn't surprise me that you aren't interested in taking the leftist media to task for ALL of their cover ups of stories that will hurt their political party, just as they have in the Hunter Biden laptop cover up

In case you never heard about it, he is Joe Biden's son and was engaged in corrupt actions.

Do you care?

OF course you don't give a damn about it.  You're too busy playing footsie with the left here and making sure you don't upset them.

BTW, where are you to speak of your opinions regarding the qualifications of this radical leftist Katanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.

What's the matter counselor, no Opinion, or just too much of an intellectual pussy to state your opinion about her here?   wink
You are such an idiot Richard.  Since I had not done it before, (hence: "for all I know" ) I have now searched CNN + Gosnell + 2011.
Guess what, CNN had scads of coverage about the arrest and initial death penalty charges.  These stories are from page 1 of the Google hits only.  There are many more.

By the way, it would be super refreshing if you now said, "OK, I was wrong, CNN did cover the Gosnell story from arrest to charge to trial to conviction..."  Fat chance though.  You are incapable of that sort of mature acknowledgement.  Instead you will deflect to Hunter's laptop, or Ketanji Brown Jackson's qualifications, or my bona fides as a conservative.  If you don't deflect, you will start a small avalanche of outrage threads that no one will read.   It is predictable as the sunrise.

Had CNN covered the story with updates even 1X per week, you might have a point there, however Miniscule coverage of the scope of a crime THAT Large with so many victims certainly warranted at least 25x the coverage they gave the story.

I do know that they covered the lie that Donald Trump was colluding with Russia at least 10X per day for at least 3 years solid, and so I'll compare their wall to wall coverage of that story with the Kermit Gosnell abortion mill story.

So far you've posted 8 total stories about it in the 2 1/2 years from start of the arrest in 2011 until mid 2013 when he was finally sentenced.

Hmm..... 8 total stories in that time period, behind the fold in the crime section.  What enormous coverage that amounts to.

My guess is that Jake Tapper nor anyone else on CNN In their Prime time News or at night when their poltical pundits are on, even devoted 5 minutes to the story in the entirety of the time period that he was arrested until he was jailed.

What do you think?  Do you think that Don Lemon, Al Sharpton, Chris Cuomo, or others even spoke about it?

My guess is doubtful, so your assertion that they had SCADS of coverage on the story doesn't hold much water with me.

Now then, would you like to give your opinion on Ketanji Brown Jackson and her pending appt. to the Supreme Court?  wink

Edit: no longer "pending" appt.  Jackson was affirmed 53-47.
The 8-10 articles I posted were from the first page of Google hits.  There are plenty more.  I thought I was clear about that?  Also, I was clear that, in my opinion, CNN is based against this sort of story and certainly covered it less than right-leaning outlets might have.  I recall something about you spitting out your iced tea when I explained why I thought CNN's coverage was quantitatively "less" than what a right wing news source might have published for this particular story.

So, I think you are as close as you ever get to agreeing with all of my points in this thread.  Nothing further to add from my perspective.  Jim

My kids are doing great, by the way.  One is getting a Masters in engineering after a preliminary stint in industry.  (He saved up for the costs).  The other is just about finished with his paramedic training and will be back on an ambulance soon, saving the lives of people like you and me.  As I've mentioned, he was an EMT when the pandemic started.  The market is so hot right now that many ambulance companies and municipalities are paying hiring bonuses.

Being a paramedic is going to satisfy him for a while, but the United States is the land of opportunity.  Bigger things await, I am sure.  Hard to believe with Biden in the White House, isn't it.

I do however find disdain with those like you, who seem to be so self absorbed that you would put your petulance above the good of the nation, regardless of the consequences that entails for your kids down the road.

As I said, pat yourself on the back for voting for Joe Biden.

Economically, go tell your kids how it wouldn't matter who is in the oval office, and which party is in charge of running the nation.

Good for your kids. I hope they prosper, even though your petulance and childishness about your votes for President have so far:

1.  Saddled them with higher prices due to the outrageous spending by Joe Biden, whom you voted for.

2.  Caused them to have to output more of their earned income to be able to get by in the future.

3.  Riddled them with much higher energy and utilty prices because you had to satisy your ego.

4.  Put them in relatively more danger in the future than this current generation, because we have woke fools running our military, i.e. Democrats whom you put in office via your vote.

5.  Provided them with relatively less freedom due to the ramifications of your vote.

6.  Higher taxes in the future which will be a certainty because the guy you voted for has necessarily appointed radicals everywhere we turn.

I have to go build more product to sell now so I don't have much more time to waste today, going back and forth with you, however that's just a quick snippet of what your vote has brought on this nation because now we have Democrats running this nation into the ground, at every level.
Ah!  We have reached the "manly" bluster phase.  So funny, so predictable.  Everyone have a great weekend!  Jim
