NRA Bans Guns At It's Own Convention

The organization explained that the rules were put into effect because the U.S. Secret Service is in charge of the event's security.

DUH!!  wink
What, the secret service doesn't trust the representatives of the NRA and their members to place their legally-owned firearms in safes and locked cabinets upon their entry into the convention? Where is it written in the constitution that government agency known as the secret service can usurp the rights of gun owners, particularly on private property in a business center for the purpose of a rifle association meeting? I think a reasonable person would probably expect Mr Pence to champion the rights of gun owners everywhere in the united states. It just makes sense that Mr Pence would be thrilled to see gun owners happily parading around with their AR15s slung around their shoulders. Perhaps he might even attend a class on how to make one while posing for pictures with a "Make America Great Again" beanie on his head. Maybe he'll see Greg there and pick up some pointers....

The fact is that the Secret Service Banned the Guns, not the NRA, they were simply complying with the order from the Secret Service.

Thanks for the laughs and I'll ask again, how's that Russian Collusion working for you? wink

Next..
Since when does the NRA take its marching orders from the secret service? Seems like there's some collusion there!
Speaking of collusion, I found a remarkably objective report on the Russia/Trump debacle published just a few days ago on, of all places, Fox News! Definitely a good read:

BTW, same thing goes for the cops.  When I'm in court, and there are armed cops, there isn't any need for me at the immediate moment to carry my gun, so I don't mind passing through the metal detector to make sure nobody else has a gun.

However now, when I'm at home at night, and I don't have a cop IN my house, I prefer to have a gun in case a bad guy tries to break in, because it will take about 10 - 12 minutes for the cops to arrive and by then if the intruder is armed and I'm not, I can be dead in a matter of seconds.  I don't want the cops to get there after I'm dead.

I know, hard to believe how easy it is to figure all this out.  I must be a rocket scientist eh?  shocked
Except this is an NRA convention where people go to tout their gun rights and what better to do that than by bringing them as they normally would do. They could certainly check the guns at the desk and place them in a secure area while Pence was present and return them after he left the premises. But no, people are denied the right to bring them to a convention wherein personal armaments as a priority to the people there...

What, guns don't make people safer? That's the belief of the NRA so why are they prohibiting weapons when Pence speaks to his supporters at their own convention? What, the secret service doesn't trust supporters of the sacred second amendment at their own convention? I'm shocked:

Mueller's Trump Questions Leaked!

Posted By Rod Kaufman

I agree with James that there's a good chance Trump's team leaked the questions. The fact is the WH has been leaking like a sieve from day one. I do expect the actual questions at the time of an interview to be honed so it's likely we're seeing what someone wants us to see...

Who made that assertion Rod that it was a failure of the "inexperienced, not effectively-trained junior NCOs" ?  You know if you read the article that it was the family members, who were quoted in the story, who made that assessment.  No offense, but what do they know about the combat situation that day?  I mean I can certainly understand their concerns and their grief, as I'm sure I'd feel the same way if my nephew was involved in that.

You mentioned Trump's role though.  What would his role be there?

I think I have an understanding of where and why you are going where you are going, but maybe you can elaborate.
I think it's quite clear in my statement that I believe a congressional investigation is needed here into any and all possible roles. I see Trent Gowdy expressed his deep concern for the need for more accountability in this deadly fiasco. And given his experience as well as that of other Republicans in the multiple congressional investigations into Benghazi, it seems appropriate for them to apply their expertise here as well...
