Hi Jim,

A rare event indeed. However it is not the end of the world. That will happen when he agrees with richie!! :'(

ABC News take on the debate

Hi All,

Here is the ABC News (Australia) take on the debate. Executive summary... Harris did well, Trump was mostly Trump, neither landed any knockout blows.

Rupert Murdoch is an American citizen and you are welcome to him!  Furthermore, he has nothing to do with the ABC. It is an independent broadcaster similar to the BBC.

Hi Jim,

I hope your trip went well and that you had a pleasant time. I have not been posting here lately as I have just returned from a trip of my own. First to Germany for a wedding (my wife's niece) and then to England to visit some of my my wife's relatives and find my brother's grave. Then on to Scotland to visit some of my relatives. Scotland especially was beautiful. So green and scenic. Unfortunately now I have to pay the credit card! sad

What is up with richie these days? He has gone even more crazy with his posting of right-wing propaganda. Who knows what will happen to him if his orange god loses! At this stage it still looks a very tight election that will probably come down to turnout. In that respect, North Carolina could be crucial. However, as a result of all the devastation caused by the hurricane, who knows what the turnout will be like and which candidate will be affected the most. Could be an "interesting" night!

By the way, anyone managed to see the comet yet? I tried this morning but without success. Hopefully it survives perihelion and puts on a good show when it moves into the evening skies in about a week. In the meantime there is a good chance of aurora this weekend.

Clear skies everyone.

Flags of our Fathers

Great images everyone. Did anyone see the nice aurora last night? Woke up at about 12.30am and saw some beautiful streamers almost to the zenith despite the street lights. Unfortunately, by the time I reached somewhere dark the display had diminished and was hardly visible to the eye. Still looked nice in the camera though.

Just think of what would happen if Donald Trump was tanning on a beach when a MAJOR hurricane hit, killing 100s? Leftists here would be insane, but they are nowhere to be found criticizing now. They're cowards.

Hi Jim,

So true. Any with all the ridiculous garbage from right-wing conspiracy-mongers that he has been posting recently he really has become unhinged. He must be getting really desperate and worried that his orange god will lose again.

Aurora Oct 10

Posted By Maurice Clark

Hi All,

Is was a beautiful aurora last night despite the bright moon. It started off at sundown fairly quiet, just an amorphous glow on the northern horizon. However, it soon brightened to a beautiful green arc, gradually getting higher. It then because dominated by red with many rays. Around 10.30 is quietened down a little, but the grow covered almost the entire sky, reaching close to the southern horizon. Not quite the equal of the May display, but still one of the best I have observed.

Below are a few of the images I took. These were taken with a modified Canon D60 using a variety of exposures ranging from 1 second to 5 seconds at 4000ASA.

Enjoy.
