This is actually not part of the aurora, but a related phenomena known as STEVE.

Of course he won't, according to dickie dodgeball he is the greatest expositor of wisdom who has ever lived and the total font of all knowledge ever gained. Hence the alternative moniker of pope richie. A true legend... in his own mind!
All he can ever do is copy others. Never had an original thought. Not surprising given his lack of education.

By the way, I see that the SBA has run out of money for helping small businesses with disaster relief. Rep. Jared Moskowitz has already filed a bill calling for $8 billion in funds to continue their work helping victims begin recovery. The question is... what will Speaker Johnson do? After all, about a week ago he claimed that money would not be an issue until after the election.
He now has a choice: (1) Call Congress into session, which means dealing with a bunch of Freedom Caucus squabbling, taking a bunch of vulnerable representatives off the campaign trail and angering the orange god, or (2) Refuse to take action, and assume the very real risk that 3 weeks before an election, voters, and in particular voters in three swing/swingy states, concluding that the Republican Party is a bunch of heartless bastards unconcerned about the suffering of everyday people.

As an aside, anybody observing comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS? Had some great viewing last night despite the bright Moon. Will post some images later. In the meantime, this is a great animation showing the comet's anti-tail.

Comet 2023a3 Tsuchinshan-ATLASPosted By Maurice Clark |
Hi All,
A couple of images of comet 2023a3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS last Monday. The comet was easily naked eye despite the bright Moon and very impressive in 20x80 binoculars.
This one is a 2-second exposure at 1600ASA using a modified Canon Digital Rebel on my 5" f/5 refractor.
Cheers
Maurice
