And as an aside note, GM which was bailed out by Obama, left the American taxpayer straddled with over $10 Billion in their unpaid loan debt, and is now going to close a good number of production plants in the US. They still plan to keep their Mexico plants fully open.
President Trump says that he will disallow the subsidies to GM that the American Taxpayer has been paying.
Are you on board with that?
American car makers would have tanked if they didn't get subsidies. I think most Americans understood that at the time of the great recession which likely would have turned into a depression if corrective action didn't take place. McCain had similar ideas at the time, too. I guess we will have to wait and see if Trump carries through on his threat. I'm not pleased to see GM close its US plant but it doesn't support Trump's assertion that American auto maker jobs are coming back to the US because of his policies, either.
If China wanted to call in their debt from the US, our economy would tank instantly and we'd be back into a severe recession. The global economy would tank as well so China probably won't do it but they do have a lot of leverage on their end. I want to see a deal made that is real and lasts unlike the debacle in North Korea which is on overdrive with its 60 or so nukes and more ballistic missile sites in production to carry them..
