Speaking of money:
"The US national debt stood at $21.974 trillion at the end of 2018, more than $2 trillion higher than when President Donald Trump took office, according to numbers released Thursday by the Treasury Department."
"The debt began to level off at the beginning of Trump's term, but bounced up again last year as the tax cuts passed at the end of 2017 took effect and the dramatically lower corporate tax rate lowered Treasury revenues."
"As a candidate, Trump promised to "get rid of" the national debt, telling the Washington Post in 2016 that he could make the US debt-free "over a period of eight years."

"Donald Trump: As projected in the FY 2019 budget, Trump plans to add $4.775 trillion, a 29-percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017."

He hasn't been investigated by the FBI. He's been investigated by "the deep state"...

You obviously haven't listened to Fox News in awhile...

$5 billion for a wall

But for 5 billion? Why don't we just buy Mexico, fix it up and flip it?
The secure fence act of 2006 which would have provided 700 miles of fencing, which Trump  previously called a "nothing wall" and which he now includes in his current descriptions of a wall which morph daily, and for which Democrats voted for at the time, was estimated at 2.2 billion by it's principal backer, Republican Duncan Hunter.

Why did he wait?

Dave,
That's already been answered by one of our resident "experts" who dismissed it as a "Democratic talking point". Of course it's a valid point and the Republicans on the hill could have pushed it through just like they did with justice Brett. Trump waited because there wasn't any crisis perceived by the conservative talk show hosts like Coulter, Rush and thew wingnuts at Fox. The caravan came up and even though none of them entered illegally with our existing resources, it's a now "crisis"!
