Does this change anything?

I think it might. Trump and or his people are targeting folks like me, Richard, Russ Carroll and Mark Costello quite specifically with this move. He is targeting us early and targeting us where our political souls live. Pretty good idea in my view.

Word for the day

Posted By James Brown

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/kakistocracy

Kakistocracy

You thought Obama was the bottom of the barrel? Hell, Obama is a paragon of virtue and competency compared to what is on the horizon. Maybe you preferred to blame all of the world's ills on George W. Bush? W is a brilliant statesman, and a leader having moral fiber second only to Ghandi, at least in comparison to our future.

We will reach genuine Kakistocracy, one way or the other, on Friday, January 20, 2017.

And our fool of a candidate can not even capitalize on this ripe, Oval Office disqualifying, low-hanging fruit.

Based upon earlier polls, I feared Colorado had gone blue, the way of California and New York. It was very clear during the caucuses that Trump would never be popular here, being way too much of a East-Coast braggart. Still, disdain for the ultimate political insider and her many scandals runs hot and deep here in the mountain west.

So, wouldn't you know it... as of now, we the people of beautiful, sunny, world-champion Colorado get to decide who will be the next president!

Let the healing begin?

Some of you will hate me for this, but I think Trump ought to pardon Hillary Clinton in his first week. A) This might help him consolidate national support. B) Continued investigations and prosecutions would distract from the business of governance. C) The moral slap-down of a pardon would arguably be more satisfying than any potential prosecution.

Just a thought.

The NYT and AP are calling PA and the election for Trump. Fox is cautiously explaining why they are not so sure. Fox is waiting for the votes to be counted....

Inevitable stupidity

Posted By James Brown

It bugs me that many lefty commentators are pointing to Hillary's popular vote victory as some sort of salve. Do these fools really think that the popular vote would be exactly as it was on Tuesday if the campaigns had been focused on winning the popular vote?

Think about it, if the popular vote mattered, the campaigns would have focused on all 50 states, but really focused on CA, NY, TX FL and other states where big popular vote totals might be run up. The complexion of the game would change entirely! Would Trump still have won if the campaigns had been focused on the popular vote? Maybe, maybe not - we don't know because that is not the game that was played.

Popular vote whiners would be like a football fan who thinks it matters that his team got 450 yards to the opponents 325 yards, even though his team was outscored 35-10. Then this loser says, well, the other teams victory is diminished because we got more yards than them! How foolish would that be since the goal and two teams' game plans were designed to score, not to run up yardage!

Hillary and Donald competed to win the EC. Everyone knows that the EC is all that matters legally. How come certain pundits don't also recognize that the popular vote is doubly irrelevant because the parties did not campaign to run up the popular vote?

Bubba knew

Did you all see this Wikileaks email chain? The good stuff is in the middle. The context is a couple of New York Times reporters seeking verification from the Clinton camp of what they believed Bill Clinton's concerns might be.

" We're told that President Clinton (like Mrs. Clinton and some other Dems)
> thinks that Trump would be a formidable opponent in the general election,
> and that Dems are in a form of denial if they dismiss Trump as a joke who
> would be easily defeated in November. President Clinton, like others,
> thinks that Trump has his finger on the pulse of the electorate's mood and
> that only a well-financed, concerted campaign portrayed him as dangerous
> and bigoted will win what both Clintons believe will be a close November
> election."

Well, the certainly did run that kind of campaign!

"We're told that President Clinton, like Secretary Clinton and some others,
> think Trump could pose a real threat in battleground states that President
> Obama carried in 2008 and 2012 -- like Virginia and Ohio -- and he will be
> competitive in Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin."

Bubba saw the risk points all along. Apparently the campaign "knew better" than one of the greatest campaigners of modern times.
